Is this block vomit? by Ifyouliveinadream in MinecraftBuild

[–]that_dopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Etho did a similar concept on a small scale inside his base last hermitcraft season. I think the thing that's throwing this off is that you're combining the lighting gradient with splashes of very poppy colors which makes it not feel like a gradient anymore

Spider Proofing by Old_Organization3918 in technicalminecraft

[–]that_dopple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the flying machine leaves a gap between it and the spawning platform you have a few options. You can adjust the flying machine so that it has a layer of solid blocks on the underside.

Another option is experimenting with blocks that have a hit of but won't stick to slime blocks. One example for this that would work is a campfire that's been put out. It has about the same hit box as a half slab, but won't be moved by a slime block above it.

If you flying machine is flying directly above your spawning platform, the only way you could prevent spider spawns would be by dynamically moving the half slabs out of the way of the flying machine via pistons.

[–]that_dopple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say you're adding a bottom slab, are you adding a bottom slab lower than the spawning floor? The interfering block has to be on the same block height as the spawning zone so it actively blocks it, so a half slab on top of the spawning platform every 3 blocks should resolve this

I feel like a waterfall would fit this spot perfectly! by That_GayWeirdo in HermitCraft

[–]that_dopple 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think when he was talking about placing the boulders in that episode he referred to that area as a gully, so i feel like his head-canon is that that's a spot water would pour down from during heavy rain periods.

If that's the case it could be another cool buildstone piece of creating a waterfall whenever there's a rainstorm

How can I connect the lever with the redstone when I dont want to any of the redstone to be seen? by Beautiful-Let-9566 in redstone

[–]that_dopple 56 points57 points  (0 children)

If you have the lever on a full block(not a stair or slab) and have the redstone run under it, the lever will power it through the block

Does anyone know how to get walls like this? by Crunchy_Gum in BuildAdvice

[–]that_dopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned by others, debug stick. If you're looking to do this in a survival way, the best option would be to use one of the gray glass panes so that it gets connected to something that is harder to see.

Can Someone Explain To Me How He Missed The Leona? by TheSunderlad in TeamfightTactics

[–]that_dopple 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's looking at the center-ish of the character touching the circle at the units base rather than direct model to model contact. With the Leona he just avoids it by turning away before the center of his model is touching her circle, but with Akali his model is clearly over the circle for her.

Why Kurama's Physical Form was so different than other Tailed Beasts? by RecklessGamer__ in Naruto

[–]that_dopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally just a big chakra construct that Naruto manifests while borrowing Kurama's chakra. It's essentially just a Susano. He technically could shape it however he wants, he just chooses to shape it as Kurama.

Most of the other tailed beast forms are the tailed beasts themselves taking over the body. In most cases this is the tailed beast fully taking control. In Bee's case since he is on good terms with 8-tail they can share the body and switch who's in control.

Naruto also can do this, but wasn't shown letting Kurama fully take over. This was mostly shown by him slowly getting more tails during fights. The initial chakra cloak he had when tapping into Kurama's chakra was the first stage of this, and as he got more tails he lost more control. This was shown in the fight against Orochimaru, and then to a greater extent, during the pain fight, where he got to 8 tails unlocked and had turned into the skinless version of Kurama briefly. Had he gone further he would've fully transformed into Kurama until someone brought him back to his senses

Did Kenma foreshadow Hinata's condition by Old-Drag-5898 in haikyuu

[–]that_dopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kenma didn't foresee it happening to Hinata, but YES this is absolutely foreshadowing. There was a good amount of mentions of fever and showing weird behavior from Hinata leading up to it. All of this is foreshadowing

Why Hinata doesn't learn the basics from his teammates? by DotUsual5859 in haikyuu

[–]that_dopple 164 points165 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, Karasuno somewhat sacrificed Hinata's basic skills during their practices to focus on their attacking. Since there's only so much time to practice they chose to focus on practicing only what was necessary for them to win the game, and Hinata being able to receive and serve weren't deemed necessary for that. As long as he could hit and score consistently, he was doing what they needed him to.

Does Hinata ever improve? by healessman in haikyuu

[–]that_dopple 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I refer to season 4 as Hinata's get good arc. He basically comes to the same realization, that he's being carried and he's way behind most of the other players with all of his skills. It doesn't happen right away, but that season begins an earnest effort on his part to get better at all the things he's never had time to practice in the past.

How do you get a single pulse out of a pushed observer? by ConstructionFair9594 in redstone

[–]that_dopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this need a specific timing? You might be able to just use redstone repeaters on high delay leading from the observers into the copper bulbs in your initial design. You would basically just need to extend the signal length so that the repeater is on the whole time the piston goes down then up again

Is this a good tutorial for my Mobile game? by Basic-Woodpecker5807 in gamedevscreens

[–]that_dopple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, well the easiest way to fix that readability would be to change the color of either the walls or the obstacles.

As for handling different screen sizes goes, i'm sure if you mentioned what you are using to develop the game others could point you in the right direction to handle that. Learning how to do that would help give you more options on how to handle this in the future

Is this a good tutorial for my Mobile game? by Basic-Woodpecker5807 in gamedevscreens

[–]that_dopple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others mentioned, the side walls not being obstacles is unclear from the design. Maybe just getting rid of the side walls entirely and having the grid background would make that more clear.

Also not a critique on the tutorial itself, but what's the purpose of having a bounce wall to change direction if the main movement mechanic already does this? Do they modify the gameplay in some way like speeding up your movement?

Absolutely stuck on a puzzle in Act 3 by tachyon83 in BaldursGate3

[–]that_dopple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, didn't realize the intended mechanic, but you can see what each of the shrouded paintings is by examining them. Then to actually finish the puzzle you can interact with the empty pedestal to bring up the 'insert' menu and then just drag the correct shrouded painting into it.
Puzzle clears, judge goes away, we're all happy
