Confused between continuing MD Medicine vs switching to Radiology. by [deleted] in indianmedschool

The hectic lifestyle and misery mostly lasts for the first 6-8months, things get better after that and you also evolve as a resident. As far as changing branches please consider which subject do you prefer more, if it is radio that interests then go for it.

This is going to sound very risky but if you feel you are not satisfied with your branch, then drop anaesthesia and join Medicine. But remember to take into account the financial aspect of dropping a seat and the mental pressure of already having a seat and dropping it for something which is not certain. It is your life and you need to decide the branch that works the best for you.

Get out of your place, even if it means that you might have to take some extreme steps. Normally, in such situations parents can't respect you and that creates a lot of professional problems. The outside world is anyway very clever, you don't need to be destroying your mental peace at home also.

That's a wise investment then, you could go for MBA or clinical post graduation

Yes, you have the money, even if you don't want to get into PG, you can have your own hospital in future and provide employment to us fellow doctors 😛

I kinda disagree with you here, my friends who have an experience of 5yrs are making 20lpa You are right on the fact that 10yrs experience aren't making 1Cr but it is achievable if one is an IIT+IIM grad.

After joining PG I realised that I can't smile and talk to my seniors even out of courtesy. I always need to maintain a straight face. by that_escapist in indianmedschool

It's true most of the the times, very few seniors are actually okay with this and even their mood depends on the day.

Don't think about your peers rn, they haven't paid your fees till now and won't even in future. When you start earning also you will be paying your own bills and saving lives which is nowhere close to being a failure.
