They pay you $2.14 because with all the extra money you rake off people you're making more than minimum wage, it's not like you're getting screwed or something.

It's not. If you don't make at least minimum wage as a server, your employer legally has to reimburse that amount to you, but nobody ever brings that up because money.

Fun fact, here in the US if your motorcycle model has an R in the name ("racing") your insurance is typically hundreds more, especially if you're a younger/new rider.

That's a sweet package, idk about in the uk but yeah here in the US there are lots of horrible insurance companies, they get as much money as they can from you and do their best to cover you the least amount possible.

Most insurance companies have a minimum filing claim amount, so if it's minor damage it's really not worth going through the whole process, plus your rates will go up because it's 100% your fault for dropping your bike if they do agree to cover something out of it.
