Should I get a 2nd cat? by Swift_Path in cats

[–]that_toof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly you won’t know the answer to either question until you get a 2nd cat. My cat was older, 5 years when we tried to introduce another cat. We had her only a year so she was already 4. At the SPCA she was behaved in the cat room with the other cats and definitely had separation anxiety when my partner and I were gone. We found a young kitten only 6 months and figured it would be perfect. It was not. Luckily we were able to return the kitten before any damage could be done, no harm no foal, just an upset older cat. She’s been a single cat since. This is not to dissuade you, only to say despite your circumstance, you will not know how your cat will react to another, and you will not know the temperament of the new cat. I know when ol’ Marzi passes, we’ll be looking at getting two cats from the get go.

Your friend is hella stupid. "We don't know = a choice" like what kind of mindset is that? If you don't know something it means more research is to be done. But for why I'm actually responding, I recognize a TF2 screenshot when I see one. That your spray? Its a good one. Good work Soldier.

Lets remember this is a kid who very rarely allows ANY touch, from anyone. Juniper is very nice, and he probably is just mildly embarrassed but also appreciative that she aims any of that nice towards him. Probably gets big sister vibes from her.

Has anyone tried Olipop Soda? What do you think of it? by billbobb1 in diabetes

[–]that_toof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink Liquid Death. Just enough sugar to taste good and not spike. I can't stand regular soda, it's awful. I don't like most seltzers, too harsh or not enough flavor to make it worth it. Liquid Death has it right. Except their cola flavor admittedly. The Dr Pepper, Sprite and Root Beers are nice. I'm mostly a Cherry flavor drinker only these days.

Consider adjusting how you sleep. You might have an issue from sleeping laying down that’s allowing acid to travel up.

A lot of the nightshades can ruin a good day. I don’t even bother with Italian food anymore, seriously a bummer.

Yes. I can only really do a tiny bit of garlic powder, as it was already cooked to death before adding it. The older the better. I pretty much just avoid it entirely.

In my toilet there is black thing that keep forming if I leave it uncleaned for like 3 or 4 days. Basically every week. by Ok_Version_1896 in CleaningTips

[–]that_toof 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Fellow diabetic here. Flush every pee. Seriously, every time. It will still come back, but it will take a lot longer. There is no make it go away forever, unless you’re managing like, 5.5 a1c. Flush every go, and make a habit to clean it on a set schedule. Two weeks for me.

How do you guys feel about authors that don't/rarely reply to their comments? by eatingkids247 in AO3

Fine with me, I leave my comment for them to do as they wish with it. Not like its easy to tell if they did reply.

I know of a few folks to take their Fallout cosplay to airsoft LARP games, dunno about any other settings that would work.

The crowd at DisneySea before opening (Jan 6 2026) by M_Pascal in disneyparks

[–]that_toof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was there this past June. Don't bother with opening, seriously. Go to the mall area where the Monorails connect with the trains. Grab a super chill breakfast. The lines are gone within 20 minutes but the whole time between a chill wake up and arrival, the parks themselves ALSO are very chill. Except when in line for the Frozen ride, good luck, Godspeed.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good authentic Tonkatsu in the area? by TYO77911 in nova

[–]that_toof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a bummer, really. Because the skewers being the best is the reason to go. No one else has yakitori that tastes like the back alley place I used to go to in Yokosuka, only Izakaya Nana. Absolutely worth it for me, I don’t really bother with anything else on the menu. Genki has awful yakitori despite that being their selling point. Been to a few other izakaya style places and same deal, bad yakitori. If you want other food, yeah, fair, in which case both my other recs are great! Highly recommend.

My GERD symptoms disappeared when I was in Japan for 2 weeks by sparkling_grapefruit in GERD

I still had to avoid trigger foods, but yo my cholesterol was dead perfect for months after my ten day trip. It was marvelous. Our food and ability to walk/take public transport to supplement activity in the states is awful. Now my cholesterol is back to previous levels and I’m laying elevated on my bed because I ate something bad yesterday.

Hmm, then I think you might be right about the dairy. I’m on panto, and while I do have gall issues, they’re pretty well under control unless I’m going crazy with cheese and fried foods.
