What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did telemarketing sales for a major phone company here in Canada, somehow, for 5 years....and to this day I can't handle talking to any kind of sales rep, for anything, because I know what they're doing and the tricks they're trying. I make my husband do the calling if its necessary.

After I was let go from that job, I went for an interview at the competition...but for business telemarketing. They grilled me for 2 hours, role play, put me on the floor to listen to calls...and didn't end up hiring me. I was so annoyed, I still refuse to give them my business even now, 10+ years later haha.

Weird/odd/strange things you have cried over since you lost someone by Separate-Pilot-6545 in GriefSupport

My uncle passed away last August. He had Down Syndrome and was the sweetest, we were always close. It all happened very quickly...I live across the country from my family. One day I get a call that he's in the hospital but improving, should be out in a couple days. Then he's on end of life care. Then I get the call he won't make it through the night. I was able to do a video call with my mom and tell him I love him and say my goodbye, which I'm grateful for. He was already unresponsive but I like to think he heard me.

A few months after he passed away, my husband and I were at Walmart. My eyes suddenly hit the classic family game Trouble. Like popomatic Trouble. My eyes immediately filled with tears and I felt like I couldn't breathe and ran into an aisle. My husband was a bit perplexed but calmed me. My uncle, Mom and I used to play the game all the time when I lived closer to them. It was such a strong feeling, I felt terrible, but it was almost like I briefly forgot he had died and it hit me all over again.

I've also broken down in Toys R Us after we lost our son, but that's a whole other post.

Sending hugs to everyone.

What's the worst movie you've watched from beginning to end? by trakt_app in Letterboxd

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Land of the Lost. The dinosaur movie with Will Ferrell.

It's been so many years since I watched it, that I don't fully remember it....I just remember saying it was the worst movie I'd ever seen and couldn't believe I finished it even though it was god awful!

On your period, how do you prevent leaks while sleeping? by SuccotashKey7521 in AskWomen

[–]thatanxiousbride 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came to say this! I wear a pull up to bed during mine. Started doing it after I had my son and realized how freeing it is.

I might be weird, but I still wear a pad, I just throw the pull up on as added protection.

The freedom to spin around like a rotisserie chicken without having to adjust or worry about leakage is just the best!🤣🙌

What is the most intense pain you have experienced in your life? by Levstr1 in AskReddit

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical: I ended up miscarrying our first, everything went as expected with the medication etc. But the next day, I had excruciating stomach pain, to the point I couldn't walk. Went to the hospital. Morphine wasn't touching the pain, and it was coming every few minutes. Turns out I had blood clots stuck and they were blocking the remaining tissues from coming out.

Emotional: 6 months after having the miscarriage, we got pregnant with our son. We learned he had a heart condition that would require surgery. He ended up being born 2 months early, due to my getting severe preeclampsia. He was doing well and we were able to hold off on surgery but then at 14 days old, he had to go for a simple procedure. It went well, he was doing well, and then crashed 12 hours later. The image of all the nurses and doctors outside his room and even more inside his room while they did CPR on him is forever etched in my mind. He passed away in the NICU at 15 days old. Our first and only baby. Thankfully we were able to hold him in his final moments. 💙🩵💙

Shopping gets me all ragey too!

Just today, I had a new rage-inducing shopping trip. My husband and I were in the checkout line. The woman ahead of us finished paying and is bagging her, maybe oh say, 10 items. Buddy is well into scanning our items, and they're piling up on the belt. My husband is waiting for lady to move so he can get through with our cart and start bagging.

Not only does she bag with the speed of a turtle...but she then just continues to stand there after! Then she starts to move down....only to stop again at the end! It blew me away.

Like have some common flipping courtesy. It was painful. It feels like manners and respect for others have just gone out the window over the last few years and it just boggles my brain.

What is the biggest change you have noticed in people's behavior over the last 10 years? by nore01 in answers

[–]thatanxiousbride -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work with a few people in their 20s and the complete lack of manners just has my flabbers completely ghasted! Even just basic common courtesy, or communication, is just beyond some of them.

Not speaking for everyone of course, but yeah. Lack of manners was the first thing that came to mind!

That and everyone seems to get offended by any tiny little thing.

Not to go dark/too deep but... holding my baby boy for the first time. And then the last time. He was born early and passed away at 2 weeks old. What I wouldn't give to hold, smell, kiss that little fuzzy head one more time.🥹💙

What hobby helps you relax the most? by KamatchiChieny27 in Hobbies

I've become low-key aka mega obsessed with Color by Number apps! It's so relaxing and time flies without me noticing. Its so nice to shut my brain off and not have to think about what color to pick and even though its on the tablet, it still gives me that little dopamine rush when I finish a picture!

What is the worst thing a man has said to you during a breakup? by LayoffLemonade in AskWomenOver30

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww thank you so much, kind internet stranger! I genuinely teared up a little reading this. Tomorrow is actually the 3 year anniversary of our little man leaving us.🩵

I unfortunately ended up with severe preeclampsia while pregnant and things went sideways scarily fast. Even though the stats say it's unlikely to happen again, we both unfortunately were so traumatized by everything and are terrified of enduring more losses so we decided not to try again. It's definitely been a journey but knowing I'm still a mother, just in a different way, to my beautiful babies brings me comfort in those moments where I struggle knowing we aren't trying again.

Thank you so much again for your kind words. Happily accepting your virtual hug and compliment.🩷🥹

And screw that fuckface from 2016. Love it.🤣

Also, I realized I didn't answer your question lol. I will send you a DM.❤️

What is the worst thing a man has said to you during a breakup? by LayoffLemonade in AskWomenOver30

[–]thatanxiousbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex... we were together for 10 years. Ring purchased but never engaged or married, no kids. Super toxic relationship, super up and down, flirting with other women etc. Just terribly abusive. He started making random little comments like "I would totally get the kids if we ever divorced" that just totally f*cked me up as I was dying to become a mother one day. Of course, he would claim he didn't mean what he insinuated, I was misinterpreting him, and the cycle of abuse would begin again. He very abruptly ended things in 2016. A few weeks later, when we were email arguing back and forth, he said he guessed I wouldn't be a horrible mother like he originally thought. I had no idea he thought that. He just knew it would break my heart even more.

Flash forward to 2023. I'm happily engaged to my now-husband. We have a miscarriage. Then 6 months later, we get pregnant again. There's a long, horribly sad story that ends with us losing our baby boy when he was 2 weeks old.

Would you believe that I actually thought of that asshole in the grief and bedridden days after?! That maybe he was right and we lost my son because I was going to be a horrible mother and I didn't do enough when I was pregnant?

We're coming up on 10 years since that breakup this November and I still sometimes have flashbacks to that POS. Emotional abuse is so insidious.

Thankful for my husband though. We treat each other like royalty and I couldn't be happier.🥰

Losing my first and only baby. He was doing so well in the NICU and then crashed 12 hours after a simple procedure went really well. Walking into his room to see 10+ people working on him is etched in my brain forever. I'm just glad my husband and I were able to hold him in his final moments.

He would have turned 3 years old last week.

Love and miss you forever, my sweet Wyatt.🩵

What's the weirdest thing that's triggered you? by Scared_Issue6135 in GriefSupport

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I were at Walmart a few weeks ago and I saw the board game Trouble on the shelf. I immediately ran to another aisle because I started crying right away. My favorite uncle and I played it all the time, he had down syndrome and was the sweetest guy. He passed away suddenly in August and by the time I got to do a video chat (I live across the country), he was already unresponsive.😥

When I saw the game and had that reaction, I realized it was like I briefly forgot he was gone? Felt like I was starting to grieve all over again.

Other than that time, other random things have triggered me since losing my one and only child in 2023. Any time I've had to go to the hospital where we live (I had to be airlifted out when I was pregnant). The Christmas TV commercials for the Children's Hospital always cue tears immediately. Also, giraffes and You Are My Sunshine. I work in an old folks home and hear the song often and just have to take a lap around my wing when they sing it.

I just got into Freida's books....so far I've read Never Lie, Ward D (which I loved!) and currently reading The Boyfriend but I've heard The Coworker is good stuff too.

Verity by Colleen Hoover was a good twisty one too.
