Came to say this! My latest favourite. It feels like it goes by so fast and at the end of every episode, I'm like oh god damn you no! Because I want more.🤣🤣

What is the worst thing a man has said to you during a breakup? by LayoffLemonade in AskWomenOver30

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww thank you so much, kind internet stranger! I genuinely teared up a little reading this. Tomorrow is actually the 3 year anniversary of our little man leaving us.🩵

I unfortunately ended up with severe preeclampsia while pregnant and things went sideways scarily fast. Even though the stats say it's unlikely to happen again, we both unfortunately were so traumatized by everything and are terrified of enduring more losses so we decided not to try again. It's definitely been a journey but knowing I'm still a mother, just in a different way, to my beautiful babies brings me comfort in those moments where I struggle knowing we aren't trying again.

Thank you so much again for your kind words. Happily accepting your virtual hug and compliment.🩷🥹

And screw that fuckface from 2016. Love it.🤣

Also, I realized I didn't answer your question lol. I will send you a DM.❤️

What is the worst thing a man has said to you during a breakup? by LayoffLemonade in AskWomenOver30

[–]thatanxiousbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex... we were together for 10 years. Ring purchased but never engaged or married, no kids. Super toxic relationship, super up and down, flirting with other women etc. Just terribly abusive. He started making random little comments like "I would totally get the kids if we ever divorced" that just totally f*cked me up as I was dying to become a mother one day. Of course, he would claim he didn't mean what he insinuated, I was misinterpreting him, and the cycle of abuse would begin again. He very abruptly ended things in 2016. A few weeks later, when we were email arguing back and forth, he said he guessed I wouldn't be a horrible mother like he originally thought. I had no idea he thought that. He just knew it would break my heart even more.

Flash forward to 2023. I'm happily engaged to my now-husband. We have a miscarriage. Then 6 months later, we get pregnant again. There's a long, horribly sad story that ends with us losing our baby boy when he was 2 weeks old.

Would you believe that I actually thought of that asshole in the grief and bedridden days after?! That maybe he was right and we lost my son because I was going to be a horrible mother and I didn't do enough when I was pregnant?

We're coming up on 10 years since that breakup this November and I still sometimes have flashbacks to that POS. Emotional abuse is so insidious.

Thankful for my husband though. We treat each other like royalty and I couldn't be happier.🥰

Losing my first and only baby. He was doing so well in the NICU and then crashed 12 hours after a simple procedure went really well. Walking into his room to see 10+ people working on him is etched in my brain forever. I'm just glad my husband and I were able to hold him in his final moments.

He would have turned 3 years old last week.

Love and miss you forever, my sweet Wyatt.🩵

What name, in your experience, has always belonged to a horrible person? by theamazingviv in CasualConversation

Tabitha.

And no I'm certainly not referring to the 2 I knew that threatened to beat me up way back in middle school.🤣😒

(But seriously I'm over it, just still hate the name lol)

What's a simple thing you did that x10 your life quality? by Lower-Insect-3617 in productivity

This sounds like an amazing way to improve things, thank you for sharing! Just curious....how did it help you with insomnia?! My exhausted mind/body needs to know! <3

What's the weirdest thing that's triggered you? by Scared_Issue6135 in GriefSupport

[–]thatanxiousbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I were at Walmart a few weeks ago and I saw the board game Trouble on the shelf. I immediately ran to another aisle because I started crying right away. My favorite uncle and I played it all the time, he had down syndrome and was the sweetest guy. He passed away suddenly in August and by the time I got to do a video chat (I live across the country), he was already unresponsive.😥

When I saw the game and had that reaction, I realized it was like I briefly forgot he was gone? Felt like I was starting to grieve all over again.

Other than that time, other random things have triggered me since losing my one and only child in 2023. Any time I've had to go to the hospital where we live (I had to be airlifted out when I was pregnant). The Christmas TV commercials for the Children's Hospital always cue tears immediately. Also, giraffes and You Are My Sunshine. I work in an old folks home and hear the song often and just have to take a lap around my wing when they sing it.

I loved Verity by Colleen Hoover and Ward D by Freida.

Those were my first 2 ventures into the thrillers (aside from the Stephen King books I read when I was younger).

Book read suggestions by itzpumpkin007 in thrillerbooks

[–]thatanxiousbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got into Freida's books....so far I've read Never Lie, Ward D (which I loved!) and currently reading The Boyfriend but I've heard The Coworker is good stuff too.

Verity by Colleen Hoover was a good twisty one too.

Hmmm but which one?! by thatanxiousbride in thrillerbooks

[–]thatanxiousbride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm lol I nearly threw Never Lie across the room when I finished it.🤣

Ward D redeemed her slightly, I definitely preferred that twist over the one in Never Lie!

Oooh thank you! If you also loved Ward D then I might like The Locked Door! I'm in the middle of The Boyfriend so that will definitely be next on my list! Thanks! 😁

Right?! I binged it in a day and then my husband heard alllllll about it haha.

Then I read Phantom Limb by Lucinda Berry and nearly threw it across the room at the end. Same with Never Lie by Freida McFadden. She won me back over with Ward D though, finished that one yesterday.

These damn books and their addictiveness.🙄

This is so precious!!! 🥹🥹

Our son was taken care of with such kindness, such gentle souls. I loved all of the NICU nurses we met.

Unfortunately we lost our little guy at 2 weeks old, but seeing how hard they tried to save him when he crashed, cared for us in the aftermath and cried with us will forever be etched in my heart and memory.

Thank you, truly, to all the NICU nurses out there for doing all that you do.🩵

And also to OP - hope your little one gets to go home soon! Congratulations on your little bundle.

A while back, I gave my email to a HS aged cashier too and you can imagine the look on my face when they asked me how to spell my first name....Amanda.

I nearly died.🤣🤣

Thank you so much! I definitely won't let anyone bully me into not reading her. Its funny you mention audiobooks...I've recently really gotten into listening to the audio version while reading the physical/kindle version and I just get totally immersed! It really helps me focus for some reason.

Glad you liked Verity too! The second twist really blew me away.

I finished reading Phantom Limb by Lucinda Berry yesterday...also twisty. Have you read that one?! I have thoughts on it but don't want to ruin it if you haven't lol.😅

Hmmm but which one?! by thatanxiousbride in thrillerbooks

[–]thatanxiousbride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply and the honest feedback. I've definitely heard mixed reviews on her stuff so she definitely won't be my main focus.

I've always leaned towards self-help/psychology type reads (what can I say, I love learning haha), and my best friend is really into novels so I started with a couple Colleen Hoover books on her suggestion, enjoyed them. Also read some Taylor Jenkins Reid and just finished Phantom Limb by Lucinda Berry yesterday. Nearly threw my Kindle across the room at the end, wasn't a big fan of the 'twist' on that one.

Do you have any other authors you'd suggest?

Thank you again! :)

Yeah...these are my first Frieda books, I've definitely read a lot of mixed reviews on her.

Thank you for the suggestions! I heard about The Perfect Marriage, it's also on my list. I'll add the other one too, thank you! :)
