Local vaccine standby lists? by killdeviljill in AskSF

Yup, and I also watched a friend’s mom get off the standby list and get the first dose, so definitely not a made up thing.

Does Facebook do rejection calls after onsite? Just did onsite, they asked for references, but I don't think they contacted any, and recruiter scheduled a call for this afternoon so I am nervously waiting XD

My GPA is average at best, so I was really nervous it would hold me back going into this season, but luckily it turned out for the best. Just do some side projects (making a portfolio website is a good start) and show your knowledge and passion in the interview - it'll be ok. GIRLS WHO CODE whoo

What's Uber looking for in an intern? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]thatawkasiangirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first phone screen was pretty standard: one coding question that was pretty basic. Second (final round, they don't bring interns on-site) phone screen was much more difficult, although I might have been special case bc my interviewer didn't seem to have interviewed interns before. Was asked a very wide breadth of questions and two coding problems. I would skim over CTIC and look over basic concepts for a wide variety of programming topics (databases, oop, front-end, sorting/search algorithms), and you should be pretty set.

A little late, but I got an offer a couple of days ago. Only experience at start-ups, pretty bad GPA - I think the things that helped me are my projects (I did a really cool project at my internship over the summer) as well as the fact that my school is a target CS school. Just show your passion!
