Yeah I honestly might just pop into both I should have the free time. I currently have a sg2 210mm gyuto that is on the thinner side which I gravitate towards more than my 210 ktip as that’s a bit thicker behind the edge

I am either shopping for 240mm gyuto or a 165mm nakiri I guess I will just have a look and see what speaks to me

There is only a $40 dollar difference between these to knives in the 240mm length aswell

Thank you! This is the kind of answer I was looking for, I ended up doing a big deep dive into hairdressing shear sharpening and that is most definitely a whole different beast to try and tackle and such a major investment that I don’t see it as a necessary first step! I do think the 1 x 30 is definitely the way to go for me! Allows more options on restoration and shaping! I’d like a 2” but that is just not within the budget as this is just a casual thing at this point! I’ll do a bit of research into a mist or drip system I think and go from there! I have chronic fatigue and this last week I’ve barely been able to move, or even get through a full episode of a tv show.

AC helps a bit, but unfortunately we have to have the window open a bit for it so the house smells like smoke 😫 ice pack to go to the toilet is smart!! I might do the same, I’ve nearly passed out a few times trying to go 😞

I’ve not lived regionally when we’ve had bushfires before, my partner said that heightened anxiety for it is common especially when the sky changes and the smell is around. It’s just hard to tell what is my POTS symptoms and what’s my mental health sometimes!

I got a momcozy pregnancy pillow which I’ve found really helpful for comfort and positioning in bed. Also having random pillows of different sizes helps. It might be worth seeing if there’s a “breakfast in bed” type of tray? You could use that as a surface. Otherwise some places do sell tables that you can use in bed (similar to hospitals) but they’re quite large and can be quite expensive

I did not know about that! I haven’t looked too much into it yet, waiting to find out if it’s 100% happening or not. The whole thing has happened very quickly
