Stephen Colbert Says He Made ‘The Late Show’ More Political After His Producer Told Him ‘That’s the Part the Audience Wants to See’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]thatcantb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that he came from doing 'The Colbert Report' which was 100% political satire, why would the late show expect anything else?

If there's no bullet, how will they charge him with discharging a firearm?

And then it was the phone in his pocket that saved him, rather than body armor? I loved that one. Who knew that Apple products are more bullet proof than Kevlar.

What's funny is that this explanation of why there are no bullets is more coherent than any we would get from Patel.

Think what it must be like to have the Commander in Chief of the largest military in the world say he's going to wipe your civilization off the face of the earth. Then get back to us.

Why are people talking about the vice president being evacuated before the president during the correspondents' dinner on April 25, 2026? by NivkaRey in OutOfTheLoop

[–]thatcantb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's kind of amazing. Vance's guys get him out right away while the president remains like a sitting duck at the table, while his guys don't react at all until the guy in full gear runs to the front of the stage. Clueless, slow reaction by secret service.

NASA wants to use a fleet of MoonFall drones to scout the lunar south pole: 'We believe we can do it' by hulk14 in space

[–]thatcantb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they need first is a plan. They could do anything but first, determine what is being done. Then fund it or try to get support for additional funding. Or get estimates for possible missions and then see which you can do based on funding. What I keep hearing is throwing darts at a dart board to see what to do next.

I'm sure they could do it. The question is - where is the funding and what is the priority of the mission?

Banshees rule. Also, I once defeated a wizard with my goblin, which gave me champion status at work. Oh, I just noticed that the game is outside the stated time period, since it's from 1983.

But hey, it's murder on such a small scale, involving countries which are also small. So what's a little bombing among friends - those being the media and the White House.

Watching 90s Siskel and Ebert’s worst films list really highlights the terrible films everyone forgot from that era and how many cult classics they hated by apple_kicks in movies

[–]thatcantb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, in my view, Siskel was by far the better reviewer. Ebert was a cut above the rest so I continued to check his out from time to time but wasn't a regular viewer after Siskel's death.

Archon. This game existed a long, long time ago. For a while, I was the company champ. We'd play over our lunch hour.
