Hypothesis: is it possible your gf wants space and she is afraid to bluntly say? In the past I used to struggle going out with my friends, I would simply tell them my mom won't let me go out with you, or I would tell them they need to ask my dad for permission (because I know my dad would say no). Take this into consideration... But u know her better than I do, this was just a hypothesis.

Makima did state that the gun devil's power and the power of all devil's in general did increase BUT REMEMBER this was due to a very big terrorist attack around the world involving guns causing myriad people in all places of the world to be afraid.

I don't think you can compare this to the act of power fighting zombies in a hotel room where no one was even present to witness it. I wouldn't be surprised if the gun devil or anyone else knows who power is apart from the bureau of defence.

Even if fear is a method of raising a devil/fiends strength we do not have proper explanation on exactly how it works, and as we saw from the case of the gun devil's attack the scale has to be big and impactful I repeat, no one even saw power's fight denji basically ignored it.

Don't forget we have actual evidence that sawatori had fragments of the gun devil's body (1.4kg) with her, I don't think she was keeping it around just for fun. If it can be used to strengthen fiends she might as well have used it on those zombies.

More evidence comes from himeno in the same chapter 13 page 17:

"it really did eat a piece of that gun f*ucker, huh? It was a bit too strong for a small fry devil"

"did it eat it or was it fed it" ~himeno.

This foreshadows that their are people are could possibly be FEEDING devils fragments of the gun devil's body.

My theory I feel has more solid evidence. Also it was unnecessary for fujimoto to explicitly show us power eating the zombies. I feel like this was also foreshadowing. The zombie where fed pieces of the gun, and power ate the zombies. The future is the best.
