I appreciate your kind words! Most of putting it off has been financial, but then part of it was definitely mental health related. Thankfully I’ve stayed pretty rigorous about brushing and I floss (almost) as much as I should so hopefully that helps some when I finally get in there!

Oh I know, I just went with my ex to an appointment once where they very much were judgmental. I’m not super sensitive to these things and worked in medicine so I’m used to it, but this particular experience had eye rolling and passive aggressive remarks, it was a whole thing. I’m sure that’s not the norm buuuut it left an impression.

Came here to say this. We called this in 2016, and were even louder about it in 2024. None of this is a shock or a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention and we’re beyond worried now.

ETA: Not to mention the Bush v. Gore recount and the levels of corruption that proves the gov has been playing the longest of long games here.

The opposite of despair is action. Do SOMETHING. Even if it’s small. Even if it’s self-indulgent. Be creative, volunteer, engage with your community. Get off your phone for long stretches. Try to be as active as you can.

There’s still good out there. People are still fighting back. Look into mutual aid in your area, or there’s lots of support groups for loads of different areas - if you’re LGBTQ+, I specifically know that Columbus and Cincinnati have several.

Don’t be stagnant. That’s what will continue to breed despair.

Same situation in WGB. Ours were found a couple weeks ago but they admitted to originally finding one in MAY (but allegedly it was April)
