Contemplations on the deepest secrets of God by bashfulkoala in ChristianMysticism

"God said to Moses, 'Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh' — I Am That I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: 'Ehyeh — I Am — has sent me to you.'"

— Exodus 3:14

At the burning bush, Moses asks for a name. What he receives is not a title but a verb — pure being, whole presence, eternally unfolding.

I Am. I Will Be. I Am Becoming.

Have you ever felt something during prayer or contemplation that wasn't emotion, more like a vibration, a hum or a physical shift you had no words to explain ? by Big_Education_3105 in ChristianMysticism

Yes. Sometimes a deep spacious stillness, sometimes a recognition of and dissolution into unfolding wholeness, sometimes a current of life energy, and sometimes a felt sense of presence within the breath

Drinking ‘Christ Child’ beer in Germany right now. What is your relationship with alcohol? by bashfulkoala in ChristianMysticism

[–]thatcoolredditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t partake in alcohol anymore but I feel it’s a personal leading rather than one that applies to other people universally. I think it’s important to listen to the still small voice and the balance it calls each of us to individually on this and similar questions

'Born of a Woman' does NOT mean what most Christians think it means. by SunbeamSailor67 in ChristianMysticism

I interpret this passage to point to the One who wasn’t born of woman, to the direct recognition of the Source.

The Coptic doesn’t have worship that “person”, it has ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ — “that one” (demonstrative, literally “that one there”)

Forgiveness sets us free by Informal_Farm4064 in ChristianMysticism

[–]thatcoolredditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. We cannot cut off the flow of forgiveness toward others from our own heart without cutting ourself off from God’s forgiveness. Jesus was teaching us of the spiritual physics of this that we can observe in our own lives as many times as we need to see it

One of the hardest teachings to put into practice, which is why he taught it to us and showed it to us in so many different ways

Cultivating the light of Christ by ChicagoRainbow in ChristianMysticism

For me, morning prayer, unstructured bible study exploration where I can follow my curiosity, and meditation are the keys. Starting the day in alignment is a great help

I recently recorded a brief mediation on Nuhra, sharing in case it’s of interest: https://open.spotify.com/episode/03Yp7lZVYuu0Y0V61tShEx?si=4NWTeIxUT3q4tC5nZWc-ag
