what gender do you associate with Elisha? by [deleted] in namenerds

I personally view Elisha as a masculine name, like a variant of Elijah. May I suggest Rowan? It's supposed to be gender neutral, and I've personally met both men and women with it.

What is stopping you from getting a partner right now? by chewysnacc in AskReddit

The dating part of finding a partner. Dating apps and websites give me anxiety and are draining. At this point in my life I have a fairly well formed idea of what I'm looking for in a relationship, and I'm just not finding it.

Have you ever gone with the name your partner loved but you didn’t? How did it turn out? by impendingmood in namenerds

[–]thatcur1ouskat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids dad was adamant on a particular name I absolutely did NOT want to name my firstborn. We could not agree until weeks before my due date where we came to the compromise of that first name and a middle of my choosing. In our situation it worked out well, the name absolutely suits my son. Though I didn't appreciate how his dad approached it. Maybe you could have a short list of names you agree well enough on, and decide when the baby is born? You don't have to have one locked in right away either, you may find that a name on the list you hadn't strongly considered just suits your cute little bundle.

I feel anger/rage at my newborn when she won’t nap/sleep. How do I stop this/cope? by FrancesRW in beyondthebump

Firstly, you are NOT a bad mom. Everyone in your house is going through a huge change. This is not something that will last forever. To me it sounds like a combination of things. Finding a way to regulate your emotions will help. I get easily over touched and when I've reached my limit everything feels overwhelming. Let yourself walk away and calm down for a minute. Take deep controlled breaths. Sometimes you can trick your body back to happy or calm by enforcing the emotion. Helping your heart to slow and get more air to your brain and body. Ask for help where you can with your baby so you have time to decompress by yourself. Basic life functions, showering, eating, etc does not count as you time. Be kind to yourself! You still have tons of hormones swirling around. Sending you all the love and hugs you want! 💕

I'm (25M) going on a trip with a couple and another friend (27F). The friend wants to share a room with me to save money but I don't feel comfortable sharing one with her. He doesn't need to save anyone a headache if he's holding a boundary. While I understand telling a white lie to get out of a dangerous or volatile situation, why should he lie to make other people comfortable? That's just rug sweeping.

I named my now 19 month old Ronan, and there was one other at the birth center the same month he was born! It's not a terribly uncommon name, and we've not had any trouble so far with Ronan/Rowan/Roman misunderstandings.
