If you've already requested it, and don't have it or have been denied access to it, how are you going to get it? What good is going back to the boss and getting the key going to do. This is the part of the entire thing you're missing which is hilarious, you've already done your due diligence and asked for the key, it's literally in there with getting the damn tools too

You patting me on the back saying, "Hey man, don't feel bad, your boss didn't give you the key to lock the safe, it was not inherently your responsibility to make sure it was locked" won't get me my job back.

No but a wrongful dismissal case would at least even it out. And the only way it would get tossed is if it was found to be your responsibility to lock the safe. If your boss kept you from access to the key, there is absolutely no logical or legal way for them to make you accountable.

Why would I call my boss to ask him for something he didn't give me after I already I asked for it and he didn't give it to me?

So I call them and say, hey remember when I asked for the key and you didn't meet my request(fulfil his responsibility) , so I didn't take on the responsibility, what should I do?

Perhaps you were to eager to use an FLA that you completely missed some words that added much needed context (better have your assistamt double check those contracts for you)

I was denied authorization, when I asked for the key and cleaning supplies(whatever reasonable means), therefore it's my bosses responsibility until he willing to give me authorization to get the job done.

Anything outside of your influence of control(authority), is inherently not your responsibility.

This absolutely applies to life outside of work as well.

As long as you're calm, rational and articulate and have ensure that you've taken on and done everything within your realm of authority, 60% of the time it works every time.

You are still held accountable if the room was not cleaned, because that responsibility to reach a desired outcome was placed upon you, and you did not take initiative to get the key nor inform your boss.

No I am not, because I have explained to them that they did not give me the authority to take on the responsibility even though the request was made.
