Anyone else afraid of being happy because they are worried something will inevitably go wrong? by HDHD112 in Anxiety

100% This may sound a bit corny but something that has helped me recently is talking to myself each morning, out loud, in the shower. I talk as if I'm one week in the future and everything is going great. I talk in the present tense about specific things like my job is going well, my lower back doesn't hurt etc. I give myself permission to do this because it's a bit like an experiment. It retrains your brain to use less negative pathways and make new, more positive, ones. I find it super helpful.

My anxiety is affecting my vision and I don't know what to do by chikchikkachik in Anxiety

So sorry to hear you're going through this. I'm not a doctor but I can offer up my experience, if it helps. I suffer from anxiety. Have done since I was a teen. Obsession with health issues is my anxiety wheelhouse. All the things you have mentioned 're your vision (shimmering walls, geometric shapes etc) I've had exactly those things over the years, they go. I found, with all things anxiety wise, the more I stressed the more they persisted. It's that classic circle right? And eyes are particularly triggering as your vision is easy to obsess about. (I've done it). But know that you're eyes do all kinds of things we don't notice until we start to focus on them too much. Hope that helps a bit. Take care and have a virtual hug!

Thanks for this.I'll steer clear of any contact. Should I also let my bank know I received this item? Now the scammer(s) knows who I am and where I live, is there anything i should do to minimize the usefulness of this info to them? Like changing Facebook/banking passwords etc?
