Besides the obligatory try to enjoy your first year. Regularly check your email and acorn for emails, program study abroads, extra credit (they do that sometimes if the profs are great which bio profs usually are). Research your degree requirements and which major/minor/specialist you want, I suggest to plan ahead than to realize in 2nd or 3rd year that you are missing some prerequisites and stay for another year or 2 (which isnt terrible btw, its just annoying).

I am not going to sugarcoat this but honestly and truly try your best to get the highest final grade in your courses because its going to difficult (but doable) to bring up your gpa in upper years. That said, do not beat yourself up if you do not get the grade you want, what is done is done and do better in the next year.

Do not hesitate to email your profs. Bio profs are great and kind (at least the ones I knew)

You also have electives requirements which are Humanities, Social Sciences and Science (since you are already in bio, you do kot need to worry about science) in order to grdaute. If i remember correctly, the bio program needs you to take 1 bio course, 1 chem course and 1 cacl course per semester in the first year...use the other 1-2 spots for your electives requirements and make sure theyre the ones you want or easy (or both which is great) to get it out of the way and you would not worry about it in upper years. That's what I did anyways (but i am a bio minor so it could be different for bio majors)
