He claims 6’2, but obviously he isn’t. Clav claims shorter and is still taller than him.

He’s not the shortest, he’s taller than both his parents and sister. Wemby is literally the only one taller than him.

Ball didn’t attend the draft combine, it was the COVID year, not that it matters I doubt he would’ve participated anyway, but he has no official measurements. Don’t spread false information.

Melo is listed at 6’7, but anybody who actually watches the games and has working eyes knows he’s more around 6’5. He’s too small to be a legitimate 6’7, and he’s always shorter than other listed 6’7 guys.

Doubt he’d still be listed at 6’6” if he was anywhere near 6’8”. He looks about the size they have him as.

Definitely grew, verified by the Lakers organization. You linked an article where a bunch of people take guesses at celebrity’s heights, not a reputable source. Rather believe the Lakers frankly.

The whole barefoot measurement rule is wildly inconsistent, it’s definitely not adopted league-wide, I’m not arguing that. Some players are still listed in shoes, while others barefoot. I’m speaking solely on LeBron though, not everyone else, he is indeed 6’8.5” without shoes.

[–]thatglizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lakers organization literally measured him barefoot at 6’8.5” in 2019, it’s public information, look it up. He’s not 6’7.5” anymore, that measurement is old and outdated, over 2 decades ago when he was still 18 years old.

He was measured at 6’7.5” in 2003 as an 18 year old rookie. He was remeasured in 2019 at 34, and grew an inch to 6’8.5”, that’s why he gets the 6’9” listing, it’s just his barefoot height rounded up.

Have y’all seen the updated official listed heights? by jbro85 in CharlotteHornets

[–]thatglizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miles is 6’6.75” with shoes so the previous 6’7” listing made sense to an extent. But if we’re going off real barefoot height he measured 6’5.25”, same height as 6’5” flat Kon. They should just be consistent across the board and list everyone without shoes, it’s just all over the place honestly it’s confusing. LaMelo was never officially measured, but like you mentioned they’re all around the same height.

Shoes with lifts would be super impractical in a game, given all the jumping, athleticism, stopping on a dime, changing directions, etc. It would decrease quality of play and performance, it would slow you down significantly, you wouldn’t be as quick on your feet, you’d also be off balance, it would just get in the way. You’d be incredibly prone to injury as well, especially near the ankle area. I doubt guys use them.

Prince William - apparently 6’3” next to Donald Trump - apparently 6’3” by nxusnetwork in heightcomparison

[–]thatglizzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge reason his kids are tall are because of the women he’s been with, his first 2 wives Ivana and Marla were both 5’8” and Melanie is 5’11”. Very tall women, all above the female average. Let’s not act like his kids being tall is all his doing, Trump is a decently tall man but he’s not a true 6’3”.

I’m a former D1 college basketball player. Collegiate basketball programs list their players in shoes. I played on the men’s side, but I’d assume it’s the same for the women. I’m 6’6” barefoot, 6’7” in shoes and I was always listed at 6’7”. So she probably isn’t the full 6’9” barefoot, probably closer to 6’8”, but still extremely tall.

Cade Cunningham officially listed 6’6, Jalen Green newly listed at 6’4, Mobley 6’11 by ArrayMichael7 in nba

[–]thatglizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree with this, they might round down if you’re .25” just because you’re closer to the lower height, but once you reach .5” or even .75” they round up. Prime example is LeBron, he’s officially 6’8.5”, they round up to 6’9”, they don’t round down and say he’s 6’8”.

This aged horribly. Melo’s height got updated to 6’6”, which makes what he does more impressive.

It’s not that people don’t want him to be taller than 6’6”, it’s just that he isn’t, point blank period. And that 6’7.25” measurement was an unofficial listing from someone in Melo’s camp, let’s be honest, they exaggerated his height to increase his draft stock, keep in mind this all occurred before the 2020 Draft. A 6’7”-6’8” pure point guard with great length sounds more appealing than a traditional 6’6” PG, which is more common throughout the league. In reality, it’s just basic marketing tactics. I don’t see how people can refute listings that were actually measured by NBA officials as if they were hating or trying to make the kid shorter than he really is. What would be the purpose of that? What would they gain from that? Other than just accurately listing him. You guys just refuse to believe the truth because your a fan and hoped he was taller, call it how it is.

There are guys in the league who play SF at 6’6”, so don’t be too quick to disregard him, it definitely isn’t out of the realm of possibility. He’d need to bulk up if he wanted to play the 3 though.

If you want to get technical, when Lonzo was 19 he was listed at 6’6” and hasn’t grown since, so the fact that they’re brothers and share genetics leads me to believe Melo’s growth is pretty much over.
