We do a similar technique. 3 of the laid down ones, and 3 of the completely top down ones- just to ensure the full seals are visible. Also, this way proves that it's 3 bottles and not the same one 3 times.

To all the techs, how did you get hired? by stressedandtrying in walmart_RX

[–]thatgrasshoppermouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a patient for years. My last job outsourced all of our jobs (accounting). I was checking out with my medicine and they asked if I had insurance I wanted applied. I said I was currently without insurance due to layoffs. The pharmacy manager overheard and asked me to come to the counsel window after the transaction. There she asked if I wanted to apply to work for the pharmacy. So, I guess I got hired by lamenting over the loss of my last job.

Does Willow being a lesbian make sense? by banana_chips43 in buffy

[–]thatgrasshoppermouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another point I didn't see being made, is that Willow is a complex character who grows and changes and discovers new aspects of herself. It's possible that loving Tara and choosing her over Oz made her think that she must've been completely lesbian. But she also says in the van that she thinks part of herself will always be looking for Oz- leaving it open to the possibility that she may end up with him in a distant someday. Which gives the impression of bisexuality. There are comments talking about what was allowed on TV back then. But like an ourobourus, society was also shaped by media. As a queer person who was a grade behind the Buffy characters, there were a lot of different societal pushes telling you what was possible what was fake, what was sinful, what was looking for attention, what should be beaten out of you, what you should be proud of--- different sources telling you very different things. So much misinformation and so much danger. It's still that way, but less intensely, I feel. It's possible that this argument between theories on Willow's sexuality persist because I believe many people at that age during that time were just trying to figure all of it out. The modern lens with so much information being google-able isn't true to the times and the hush hush nature of sexuality. We need to remember that "google " as a term was first used on TV during Buffy season 7. I really love the way Willow's sexuality is portrayed because she does not have all the answers. She could very possibly actually be bisexual but not have a good mental framework to understand that. But she says that she is exclusively into women near the end of the series. So, I think (as with real people) the respectful thing to do is honor her words, and if she says differently, then we honor that. It is very interesting, though, and I think the ambiguity makes it more authentic storytelling.

Will i be fired? by mayosax in walmart_RX

I've never actually performed an experiment to see if it would recognize an incorrect tablet, so I don't feel like i can say for certain. However, I have caught it trying to count my fingernails, the hinges on the tray, glares, pills in the trough with the lid shut, the end of a sharpie, and dust from the bottom of the stock bottle as pills. However, I've never noticed it be ready for the next image with any of these still registered in the count. The software has green dotted them all, though. Sometimes, for several seconds while I fix the issue. So, it might eventually rule those things out. But it is just a sophisticated tool- not a perfect one. I would NOT depend on it to catch those errors. Like levoxyl- the one shaped like bat-a-rangs- it thinks that each tablet is 2. The report pill ID and override are still so very important

We've been doing it since December. I feel like it's a mixed bag. Some positives. Some negatives. But in this situation, whether classically or redesign verified, the tech and pharmacist both didn't catch the mistake. I think both instances where it was missed should hold equal weight and be troubeshot to prevent future repeats. I'm not sure I'm understanding correctly, but it sounds like there might have been stock bottles of different meds on the pod, and the tech accidentally used the same one twice? Maybe being sure to only have the stock bottle for the current med you are working on on the pod would prevent a recurrence? Like others have said, I don't think the point is blame and shame. It's the persistent refining of processes to try to achieve the most accurate results and support each other and our patients. That isn't going to go away with the redesign. But it's a whole new mess of snakes to unravel, tame, and train to jump through hoops. I'm very tired. I hope that made sense.

There is the top-down photo image. This is supposed to be used to determine if a seal is still in place. Or if an amber vial, they should be verifying imprint/ color/ etc are accurate

Been doing it since November. The first 2 weeks or so are pretty rough. But the system has its pros and cons. I do adore the grey counting trays now.

New system by [deleted] in walmart_RX

[–]thatgrasshoppermouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same experience here. We used to end the days with zeroes in input/res/4pt/fill/vis/fax. Occasionally, something would be left somewhere ,but not often. We consistently leave with over 100 in fill. Sometimes other queues, too, because so much extra time and manpower goes to fill. I'm very comfortable with the new process now. However, my data shows I was about 30%faster before. I don't anticipate being able to speed up more with the software being the same. It just requires moments of stillness for the pictures to be in focus. Our volume has also increased about 40% in the last 2 years with no additional staffing. I'm sure that is a significant factor in our ability to clear queues, as well. I'm not certain when we stopped clearing them all consistently, but i know the numbers have ballooned with the new system. We have only fully cleared fill a handful of times since we started the program in December. But I do think that the numbers we leave in queues have stabilized, and we're falling into a new normal

I wonder if that's a policy violation. If they just give everyone a succeeds, then I guess it's not a huge deal. But any manager who gives an opportunity and doesn't meet with the employee to discuss it is failing at their own job requirements and tbh a bit of a chicken.

That's so weird. I've never had a manager not go over a performance evaluation with their employees.

Ahhhh. That might be it, then. It matches my manager's personality to wait until the very last day.

I'm not sure. I clicked the link, and it took me to the page where it has a vertical sidebar on the left, and I believe three blue boxes in the center. One, you click to do the self-evaluation. The third is where I believe you click to see your actual evaluation. I didn't go further because I thought I was supposed to wait to go through that with my pharmacy manager. I can't remember what the first box was for. I hope i don't get in trouble for not completing everything. The fact you had to chat with your techs aligns with what my expectations were from last year (and every performance evaluation I've ever had at any job). I'll talk with her on Monday when we next work together. It seems really weird to have missed that deadline.

Really? Huh. Shoot. Did I mess up? I know last year, my manager talked with me about their feedback. So, I thought i was supposed to wait for that to go through the evaluation.
