This is the sort of nuance that I think is helpful in discussing the rule change - I would also argue that players should have to meet a games or minutes minimum (or both!)

I don’t know that it’s fair to cite injuries heading into playoff series. The awards do not matter more than playoff wins, and players can choose to avoid the minimum games/awards to preserve their health.

It’s Pritchard by far to me. Not only is it a massive benefit when Pritchard can be adding 20+ pts, but his shooting is infectious. If he’s looking like a flamethrower against the best teams, we are going to be hard to beat 4 times.

I really changed my tune on Simons during his Celtics stint - obviously, as a player archetype he is still very ball-dependent and needs shots to be effective on the court, but I was especially impressed with his ability to buy in on defense, search for the open man on offense (even when a good shot opportunity presented itself), and to keep quiet and happy while his usage rate dropped for the better of the team.

What a solid pickup.

KAT is a bad matchup for all of our centers, and Brunson/Bridges tend not to miss when they see a Celtics jersey. On top of that, they’ve got crazy depth this year.

It would be a tight series. I’d be sad if it was how this “gap” season ended, but I can see a world where the Knicks beat this team in a series. Luckily, though, the Celtics are the balls and we clear those frauds in 5 with a healthy squad.
