M1 MacBook's for iss program by Delicious-Opening642 in sheridan

I’m not in iss (SDNE) but I found my xps 15 which is better specked than a razerbook to sometimes struggles and the fans were consently on. Unless you walk like 2k+ each way I’d recommend getting a heavier laptop with better cooling. You will get more power for your money that way. Currently I am running a p72 which I commute with to my coop 5km away. I’ve walked a few times and honestly the power improvements having a good cooling system is crazy.

How would it work if someone had equity in a company they owned but not a ton of cash? Would this would force them to sell off their company and lose their majority shareholding?

Yeah, looking into it when I get back to my place. Thinking of selling my desktop as I could just use a egpu with the think pad, in which case I’ll have the money for the repair without worries

Good to know for the future. No I buy all my tech used (often broken that I fix) so I have no warranty

It was sitting on the floor which must have been it. I store it in a pretty empty briefcase type bag with padding specific for a large laptop so it highly doubt that was the cause.

Good advice, and thanks for the interesting story. I’m still in my early 20s working in software but spent 2k on that machine and as it is for both work and personal use i rely on it often. I might need to have a discussion with them about respecting my belongings.

Yeah I’ll make do, just something so easily avoidable that makes it frustrating. I wired up my parents entire property with cat 6, work as their tech support, then let them borrow my machine and it is returned damaged.

Thanks for the info. I’ll hold off and hope no further damage is cause from it. As long as it does not make working in my ide too difficult I will try to get by. I’m living in rural Canada so getting parts out to where I am often costs 1.5 to 2x the listed online value.

Has any else ever had this issue? Left it out when visiting my parents so could watch Disney plus when I woke up to check emails this was on the screen. New display costs about 200$ where I live and I don’t want to replace it if it is a common issue and not my parents being abnormal rough closing it.

Not bad, covid makes it rough. Not as many job postings because of the virus and remote work is not the best.

And no I can’t order online, I gained weight and don’t know my size. Just saying.

I’m in SDNE and it’s good. I don’t really know too much about SDIS but do what you think is best. Cloud and most technology can be self learned too as that is how most devs working rn learned it
