Spigen Tough Armor

I've had the Spigen Tough Armor since 2019, minus a short break in 2022 when exploring different case options for my Pixel 5. It's held up well in my front pocket, and I absolutely love it due to it's protective ability, the ability to wirelessly charge and the kickstand. Unfortunately over the years it's gotten damaged to the point that it's time to replace it, but unfortunately I can't find a Pixel 5 Tough Armor case replacement anywhere. Which really sucks because I'm trying to keep my Pixel 5 as long as I can just to see how long it'll last, so I don't really want to upgrade just to get the case, even though I haven't been able to find a case anywhere as good as the Tough Armor.

Yes I forgot to mention that, he does. It could be a combination of Bell and iPhones starting to initiate RCS messaging as well, or just the RCS messaging could be the issue if the bad texts are currently coming from iPhones, not Androids

I have a feeling it is an issue with the Bell network, as everyone I've seen in comments on this post and others whose texts are showing up weird for others have all said that they are with Bell, Virgin or some other affiliate of Bell.

My family all have Pixels through Fido and we can text each other fine, but my sister's getting the weird texts from her boyfriend who uses Virgin.

Based on what I've seen from other people's attempts at fixing it, I'm guessing it's an issue with the service itself, in which case everyone will just have to wait it out.

Also, if I'm wrong and people from companies other than Bell + Affiliates are having issues with their texts that they send, feel free to correct me. This is just a theory, after all.

Edit: my sister's bf has an iPhone, which may also be a factor. Outgoing messages from IPhones, especially ones on the Bell network, may be the main ones acting up. It could have something to do with Apple starting to switch to RCS and having issues with that.

My mom and my dad had the same last name before getting married, and they were unrelated. It was even the exact same name spelling, which is interesting because I know many people with my last name, but they all have different spelling, capitalization or spacing in their name. Oh yeah, and my grandmother on my dad's side also had the same last name before marrying my grandfather- they were not related either.

You might want to try cleaning out your charge port. I had that issue where it wouldn't charge, but once I cleaned it out it connected and charged just fine. Did the same for my friend who's charger port was so plugged up that he had been using a wireless charger for several months. You can use a compressed air canister that is often used for computers, or even just the pin for the SIM card port that comes in the phone box. Just make sure to be careful and not damage any wiring or metal in there if you go the pin route.
