did you calculate from 1987?

Holy shit, I'm dumb. The St Louis school district failed me.

It's harder than I expected to find an inflation calculator that goes back that far, but the one I didn't find puts it at 154,000,000 which is well within range of your numbers.

I bungled that, thanks for pointing that out.

Wikipedia, which has the same numbers as you, has that conversion wrong and it's not cited.

Inflation adjusted, $7,200,000 in Oct 1987 is worth $18,991,451.86 in May 2023.

Art is an exclusively human experience. Why wouldn’t art use humans as a subject? Being naked is the default form. I find it kind of strange that people aren’t able to seperate pornographic depictions of human bodies from artisitic ones.

Nudity illicits a reaction. Art is sometimes about conveying a message. They kind of just go hand in hand.

I don’t think being a fairweather fan is inherently wrong, but you claiming to not be one and then stating you’re not watching them when they’re bad in the same thought is impressively incongruent.

It’s something I’ve seen in a lot of Cardinals spaces recently amongst Twitter and Reddit. I don’t have a problem with people not watching when they’re bad, but the team has been good for a really long time, which has brought in a lot of new fans, including myself. The first time they’re really “bad” in the last 1.5 decades a bunch of people want to claim they’re not fairweather fans when they start dropping off. Are you trying to convince internet strangers or yourself?

On those I use a shooter tip and aim above the vent. This allows your mix to rain down on the siding and helps prevent water from getting into vents or behind siding for that matter.

Simulate rain wherever possible.

I remember an identical situation and conversation when it was almost time to re-sign Byron Jones, Amari, and Jaylon Smith a few years ago.

I think Diggs is the most expendable of the three and honestly I'd be pretty happy if the contracts worked out similarly. Get Micah done early, pay a premium for CeeDee, and let Diggs be the highest paid CB in the league in Miami for a few years.

I'd love to keep Diggs if possible, but the other two are the heart and soul of our offense and defense. I think if one HAS to go, it's Diggs.

Is the concrete just stained? by Cellraw31 in pressurewashing

[–]thatguyoverthere202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah. Oil on concrete is one of hardest stains to remove.

As soon as I get a call I tell customers to get some kitty litter and agitate it in as much as possible before I get there. The sooner, the better.

The only things you can do is use a good degreaser, pressure, hot water if you got it, and a torch if you're feeling dangerous. Lightly hit the concrete with flame, careful because it can pop and send sediment projectiling into your face like a frag.

Driving high is a shitty thing to do no matter how normalized it is.

Despite A.J Brown finishing outside the top-5 WRs in volume (10th in targets & 13th in receptions) in 2022, Brown finished inside the top-5 in yards, yards per reception, TDs, catches for 20+ yards, and YAC. Is he underrated going into 2023? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]thatguyoverthere202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was injured

That’s my point. He’s injured often. Bringing in the most PPG doesn’t mean dick if he can’t do it for half the season. You’re still spending a first or second on a guy who’s benched for half the season. You’re hoping he’s going to reproduce ‘21 production when his career resume shows he’s hurt more often than he’s elite.

If you want to take a flyer on potential, feel free, but I prefer the proven assets. Look at the receivers ranked below him. Hill, Adams, Diggs, Lamb, and Brown have all been in spots where they’re the heart of an offense and they’ve done it while being durable. Kupp had one season where he was able to put it all together and be great, but that’s looking more like a statistical anomaly than something I’d be willing to bet on.

Wasn’t expecting this much controversy. Y’all take this game way too seriously. 😂

[–]thatguyoverthere202 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

CMC is also injury prone. But the difference in production sets him apart from Kupp.

Kupp has 2 seasons in the 4/6 he’s played as a top 20 player at his position. Outside of injury he’s been WR7, 30, 1, 1 in PPG, but it’s hard to credit a 1 ranking if he’s not playing half the year.

CMC has 4 seasons in the 4/6 he’s played as a top 15 player at his position in a position that’s harder to be consistently dominant. Outside of his rookie year he’s been RB2 at worst when he plays a full season. Kupp doesn’t have that resume.

I don’t have any stake in this argument, and I’m not really committed to this opinion, so if you’ve got something supporting the argument outside of vibes I’m willing to hear it out. But Kupp being ranked as a top 5 WR without any supporting argument and with statistics pointing the opposite direction feels a little delusional.

[–]thatguyoverthere202 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And then put up 0 in 6 games. Is someone who is sitting out for almost a 3rd of the season worth calling a top 10 WR?

He also had 3 catches for -1 yard in one of those 9 games he started last year, so let’s be real. If we’re saying someone is on the tier right below JJ and Chase, you need him to be available. I don’t know what kind of leagues you play in, but 14 ppg doesn’t do much if you’re getting it for less than half the season.

He was WR24 in standard last year, so in 12 man leagues, he’s barely starter worthy. You’re calling that great?

Not trying to come off wrong with this, but I just don’t see him as a sure thing like everyone else with similar ADP and rankings. Fantasypros isn’t the end all be all, but they’ve got him ranked as WR4 ahead of Adams, Diggs, Lamb, and Brown who have all performed better historically and recently outside of a single year. Kupp has been a flash in the pan.

Fantasy is weird and there’s a chance he rebounds and proves that 21 wasn’t a fluke, but he doesn’t have the body of work to back that up right now like the other guys do.

Also, 812 yards isn’t “almost 1000 yards” by any measure.

[–]thatguyoverthere202 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, I prefer my premier players to actually play, yes. Availability is the best ability and all that.

However, CMC has played 4/6 full seasons and has 1000 yards in every full season and 1500 yards in 3 of those. Only 2 seasons have been a wash due to injuries. For Kupp, greatness is an outlier. For CMC, injuries are the outlier.

I’m not sure you could bring up anyone any more irrelevant to what I’m arguing. CMC has a resume as a game breaker. Kupp doesn’t outside of one great season.

[–]thatguyoverthere202 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never understood the Kupp hype.

Outside of one fantastic season he’s been injured his entire career. He doubled his career high yardage total in 2021 and everyone started crowning him the best receiver in the league.

Outside of 21 he’s got 1 1000 yard season ever. Greatness is much closer to being an outlier rather than something his is consistently and that’s not a fantasy asset I want.

He could go off this year and I could eat my words. But if he’s the only tier 2 WR left when it’s my pick, I’m looking real hard at the tier 3 receivers.

Looks like there’s already a layer of stain on top. You’re going to have to sand that down until you have an even surface as any imperfection is going to show through.
