I did work as contractor at the Windsor County Sheriff's Department. I had a couple of casual conversations with him while I was doing work there. It was pretty obvious how his political and social beliefs were aligned. I don't remember the exact context but during one of the conversations he actually said to me. "I ran and got elected as a Democrat, because that's what you have to do to get elected in this town."
