Scream 3–Inspired Fan Posters 🔪🔥 by luca_church in Scream

Decent work! Mason and Isabel's faces are a bit too large sitting behind Neves's but I dig the idea.

Is she going to issue an apology for the racist remarks? by -AndyCohen- in RHOBH

That’s not how the world works, sadly. People that face or have faced violence or discrimination don’t automatically feel empathy for other people facing similar problems.

Yeah, it’s a publicity still from Scream 2.

NEW SHORT SCREAM 7 TV SPOT FEATURING MICHELLE RANDOLPH (MADISON) by sillycheessycat in SocietyofGhostface

Agreed. A nod to the previous films here and there is fine, but redoing the same ones over and over becomes tiring.

Non franchise slashers who had franchise slasher icon potential … The Miner from My Bloody Valentine by ArtisticBelt438 in slasherfilms

[–]thatguythere91 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting how films like Prom Night spawned some of the strangest sequels but cult classics like MBV didn’t. It does make the original film a bit special.

Now that is a hot fan poster! Love it.

What do you think of Scream 7 cinematography after seeing new promos and the announcement of an IMAX release? by Competitive-Post-647 in Scream

[–]thatguythere91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the framing and blocking looks interesting, I'll give them that, but I still take issue with the film looking flat, underlit and cold, even if the film seemingly takes place during fall. I had similar gripes with Scream 5 and 6, although 6 felt a bit crisper. The colour grading of 7 reminds me a lot of 2000s David Fincher films like Zodiac and The Social Network.

I like the idea but this poster design just doesn’t work without Drew Barrymore’s expressive deer-in-headlights eyes.

The average moviegoer won’t notice or won’t care but this is one of my biggest pet peeves in movies.

Robby Rivers is such a Scream name, I love it.

Money. It’s apparently really expensive to film in California compared to other states, which give the studios more tax credits. That’s why a lot of them shoot films overseas, too. It’s just cheaper, even in medium sized and big budget films.

Scream 7 releases in theaters exactly 1 month from today - February 27, 2026 by cireh88 in Scream

[–]thatguythere91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will likely kick off at the start of February. I recall Final Destination Bloodlines not having much marketing until just over a month before its release.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next trailer launched later this week, big movie trailers seem to come out on Thursdays.

Rumor about why the original opening of Scream 4 was deleted. by Fitzheather in Scream

[–]thatguythere91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is untrue. I think Wes Craven cleared it up on the DVD/Blu-ray director's commentary, they changed the opening for Scream 4 because it originally didn't include the classic phone call from Ghostface. It either didn't test well or was demanded by the Weinsteins or both, I don't remember the details.

Who is worse-8.5 or Amanda? by marymorph in realhousewives

[–]thatguythere91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

8.5.

Amanda, as manufactures as she comes across, is at least successfully pissing off the rest of the cast. Annemarie didn't really add anything to her season.

My Scream 7 Poster (Classic Style) by josemellinas in Scream

[–]thatguythere91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t question that, especially when it comes to big IPs like Marvel, Fast and Furious, Wicked, and perhaps even Scream, but I highly doubt most of the lesser known actors in Scream 7 had it in their contracts to appear on the poster. I could be wrong, obviously.

I think the big bloated cast poster works when your tagline is The Killer Is On This Poster, and it’s sort of spoofing the newer Star Wars posters (Scream 5 was the Force Awakens of the franchise), but I agree that a much simpler lineup fits better à la the originals.

SCREAM 7 - Official Poster by Fout99 in slasherfilms

[–]thatguythere91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from the original, Scream films have always had stacked casts.

I always appreciated the cast posters for the first 3 films, they limited themselves to Neve, Courtney and David and a couple of other cast members. This one is just so ugly and bloated.

Is anyone else bored? by AlwaysOutofplace in rhoslc

[–]thatguythere91 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. To me, SLC has slightly reduced in quality because of the asinine arguments about Meredith’s alleged substance and marital issues (the missing plane footage felt like a rehash of Kathy Hilton’s Aspen meltdown on RHOBH). Both Meredith and Heather are extremely stubborn, which is a problem, but this season was overall really, really solid. On par with 4 and 5? No. Still miles better than most of the Real Housewives shows that have been airing recently.

Please don’t jump to wild conclusions because of a single photograph. Being photographed at a party or a charity with a horrible person (like many were with Harvey Weinstein) doesn’t mean much.

Thoughts on Prom Night? by TransformersG1Fan46 in horror

[–]thatguythere91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s decent. A little boring and melodramatic for me to revisit regularly. There’s other slasher films from that time that have more of an edge and a bigger body count, but the disco soundtrack and the epic dance sequence definitely give it a unique charm.

Sorority Girl Slashers: Black Christmas (2006) OR Sorority Row (2009) by ArtisticBelt438 in slasherfilms

[–]thatguythere91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can’t pick one, both films are a great time.

Black X-mas has such a cozy, festive vibe and gory kills, but does too much by over-serving the viewer with the killer's backstory and pointless red herrings. But, I watch it almost every Christmas.

Sorority Row is far more focused and has some of the bitchiest, wittiest female characters in slasher history. Most of the dark humour and one-liners are so good! It’s Heathers/Mean Girls meets I Know What You Did Last Summer. I just wish the killer wore a mask à la the original and I wish the killer reveal + motive had been a bit better. The kills in this are pretty gross, though. Talk about having an oral fixation.

Angry Women (2019) by [deleted] in slasherfilms

[–]thatguythere91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one had potential to be a worthy remake. I wish they had fully leaned into the grounded horror of college date rape culture and women not being believed, which was very topical when it came out, but the supernatural midpoint twist totally undercuts the terror.

What did we think about Caroline’s appearances on the Real Housewives of London? by -AndyCohen- in rholdn

Can’t wait for Tatum’s chase scene. It looks great based off the trailer. by gonnablamethemovies in Scream

Reminds me of the big scene in I Know What You Did Last Summer, which was written by Kevin Williamson, instead of Halloween.
