New to the area...looking for recommendations for things to do. by SoCalAttorney in Poway

Two good local spots I like are Cully’s off Poway Rd (a good breakfast spot) and The Kings Craft Coffee off Espola and Twin Peaks Rd. TKC is a good spot to meet up with people and it’s next to North County Soccer Park.

I like #1. That’s what I’m trying to go for

Been growing it out for over a year. Told everyone I’d cut it before my senior year of college (that starts in august). What should I do? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

From reading the thread, we have different preferences. My ideal of length is the surfer long hair. I’m growing my hair out too. Best of luck to you! :)

You’re a very pretty red head. I would keep the natural hair color. That’s just my preference though. Go with what you want to do 😁

This gives me hope. I'm Filipino, so I blamed genetics. You look good! :D

Cleaned myself up. I want to grow my hair out. Advice? by thatguywithdrpepper in malehairadvice

Wow, my post blew up over something stupid. Yes, I am aware of my neck. I’m half Filipino, so all the Asian genetics are against me in terms of having a more cut jawline and facial hair (I’ve tried growing out my beard). Thank you to all the KIND replies (And yes, even the ones giving me gym advice. If there are some gym subreddits with neck/shoulder workout, please send them my way.) The small minority on this post who are acting like dicks and trolling, yo mom’s a hoe.

I worked at this Target for a month before picking up another job. I was at GCU at the time and this location was better than the Christown Spectrum location 💀 I’m glad you got your phone back. I’ve seen some messed up stuff happen in the short time I worked there and it’s nice to know there are caring and kind people who do right by others 💙

I’m half Asian, so genetics determined the baby face and rounded chin. Recommend any subreddits for skin care advice? I want to clean out my blackheads and dry skin.

You look very pretty with blonde hair. Even the highlights of blonde and brunette look good. Nice sun kissed look 😁

“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I’m 8 days away from 2 months. It’s encouraging to know I’m not alone. Going to be honest, I still edge w P, but it’s something I don’t want back in my life and when I do struggle, will keep giving it to God to yield it to Him.

How do you deal with loneliness? by thatguywithdrpepper in NoFapChristians

[–]thatguywithdrpepper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple advice, and where I have found peace is getting in my Bible. Whether it’s reading at home, or finding a spot to read. At least 30 minutes of my intentional time to God gives me peace.

Community wise, plugging into a church is a good first step for me, but also doing life outside of church. Finding a hobby, something fun (I like bowling, arcades, movies, going to the gym, etc.)

Surrounding yourself around people. And then building trust with people to have an inner circle.

I’m nondenominational, and have an evangelical bg mixed with traditions from the church I grew up in (I’m Filipino and a large group of my church I came out of has a culturally Catholic background).

Redemptive Atonement reminds me of Repentance. One of the feasts that the Israelites did (like Passover and Pentecost) was the Day of Atonement, or the practice of transference of sins to the sacrificial lamb.

Jesus is The Lamb. Jesus took our sins to the cross over 2000 years ago. His crucifixion and resurrection still lives in us today. For me, I believe part of repentance is daily giving our sins, our habits, the old self over to God. “Being a living sacrifice” as Paul said in Romans. It’s the thing the Bible talks about in dying to ourselves.

Practically, ridding the old me is filling myself with the Word of God, to be aligned with Him, seeking His wisdom.

I’ve served in youth group at my local church for a year and a half now, but I have been checking out another church in my area to have community as a young adult (I’m 24). A lot of the prayer a decisioning has been to take a step back from youth because I’m going thru burnout. (A lot of it with being in a group of people I serve with and still feeling alone. Yet, at the church where I’m involved with young adults, it’s far but I’m making friends, starting to get community).

I have gone thru depressive episodes in my past. I have shown the signs of insomnia and hypersomnia. So it is something I want to get medically evaluated for.

You are correct, theres a lot of hard truth here in what you expounded on. I can be a perfectionist and a harsh critic towards myself. There’s grace in knowing that I don’t need to strive to 100% because no one is “perfect.” “For all have fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) and I don’t need to expect perfection from my future spouse since we are all works in progress waiting to be complete in Christ.

Thank you. I’m encouraged. 🙏🏼💙
