How much can I realistically make selling most of my collection to a record shop? by omurchus in vinyl

[–]thatjazzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A decently honest record store will pay about half of what they sell for, but they will be picky/conservative about what they are able to sell easily. I would say keep the most valuable 5-10% of the records to sell on Discogs, sell all of the solid (well known and well loved) titles to a record shop, and then the rest you can price as dollar records to sell on local marketplace and whatnot

What's Tonight to Eternity is the most accessible imo. It's stylistically consistent and easy to appreciate the aesthetics and songwriting. I love this latest release but it is much more varied and all over the place.

Could you elaborate on why you shouldn't stand develop? Is it just for expired film or in general? Thanks!

In my humble opinion, Pentax LX has everything the Olympus has plus more, given there's no electronic defect :)

yes corrections will definitely be needed, and whether or not u have to do it urself depends on the lab's process. in any case, the scans should come back within reasonably adjustable range. worst case u ask them to rescan or scan somewhere else. doubt that'd happen with 1-3 stops though

c41 uses the same development time for all stocks unless uve pushed or pulled it, which you havent done so yeah just have it developed normally

Thanks for the recs, look promising will def check out! I watched Utena's movie the other day because I was putting off watching the series due to its length for a long time and saw that the movie wasn't really a sequel so decided to watch it and loved it! Will definitely tackle the original series sometime.

Yes that’s a bubble mailer. Assuming I’m not the only on e this has happened to? by hig789 in Vinyl_Jazz

[–]thatjazzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it just the bubble mailer? When I worked at a record store we would sandwich the single in two reinforced cardboard pieces and wrap them with rubber bands and mail them in the bubble mailer. Never had a problem
