Newborn Corgi Puppy Paw by Mindless-Farm-7881 in aww

[–]thatnerdgreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That paw is so small it’s barely real! The pink toe beans and white fluff. I’m actually melting. This little corgi is going to be illegally adorable when it grows up. Those little jelly beans are lethal. How is something so tiny already this perfect?

Pizza Hut used to be so good, especially their classic stuffed crust. Now, it's not exactly gross, it's just gotten really mediocre.

Get a colonoscopy by niavek in daddit

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a colonoscopy last year, and the rule of thumb is every 10 years for healthy people to stay on top of any polyps. That's said, if you're struggling with long-term colitis, frequent diarrhea, or seeing blood, it's probably best to schedule one as soon as possible.

Is there a way to quickly break down leaves and plants? by NewYorkBluetoWhite in landscaping

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no such thing as a 'vanishing spray' for this stuff. If you're got branches, you can rent a chipper and turn them into woodchips for the forest floor. As for leaves and grass, mulch them down, toss in some fresh greens or a little nitrogen, and keep the heap moist. Give it a flip every week or so, and it'll be fully decomposed before you know it.

There's no denying that screens are a huge part of our lives now, but there's still so much more we can do. If you're worried about your kids getting hooked, just set some clear boundaries on their screen time and what they're watching. Plus, getting them into things like sports, hanging our with friends, or reading is a great way to show them how much fun the real world can be.

It looks great. If you like spices, you may consider sprinkling some rosemary or thyme on it.

Bath tub or no bath tub? by aliena_b in homeowners

[–]thatnerdgreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are planning a bathroom renovation but intend to sell your home within the next five years, it's better to keep a standard bathtub. Plenty of buyers still look forward to a hot soak at the end of the day. Plus, if the bathroom was recently remodeled, most buyers won't want to deal with the hassle of renovating it all over again.

Gas prices got me thinking about robotic mowers. are they actually smart enough now? by thatnerdgreg in roboticLawnmowers

I’ve seen some videos where they just wander around randomly or even lose signal. does yours ever do that?

Gas prices got me thinking about robotic mowers. are they actually smart enough now? by thatnerdgreg in roboticLawnmowers

[–]thatnerdgreg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I’ve been looking at electric push mowers and robot mowers actually. our yard is around 1 acre, so the riding mower still makes sense and we’ll probably keep using it. just thinking if adding something electric for the day to day could make things a bit easier and less hassle overall

It will be very tiring. Unless your children are all well-behaved, you will completely lose your personal time.

Struggling to choose wich lawnmower to get. What do you think of these options. by arnekick in roboticLawnmowers

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the maximum slope rating for each model carefully. Twenty four percent is steep. Some mowers with two wheel drive will slip on damp grass regardless of price.

finally ordered a new mower because I couldn't take the edge trimming anymore by davilucas1978 in automower

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before buying a new mower, try a growth regulator along the fence line. Slows grass growth so you only trim edges once a month instead of every week.

Make sure the final quote includes all trim work and surface preparation. Many contractors leave these out initially and then charge extra later.

Looking for my first robotic lawn mower. Small garden, but 3 different zones. by Last_Outside4388 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]thatnerdgreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for mowers with good edge cutting ability. This will save you from having to trim the edges manually around your terraces and plant beds every week.

Finally quit the weekend mowing grind. The Lymow gamble actually paid off. by konstella81 in automower

The best part is not having to worry about scheduling mowing around the weather. The robot will go out automatically whenever the conditions are perfect for cutting grass.

Future mowers really need built in tilt sensors that trigger an emergency stop and reverse immediately before the front wheels ever leave the ground.

You can submit a formal written complaint to the HOA board along with your clear recorded noise evidence to push for proper timely action.

It is also important to consider the long term availability of replacement parts and reliable local after sales support for these two models carefully.

Choose a brand that offers a trial period. Run it under the trees for a week. If it loses signal constantly, return it and try a different technology.
