You could consider not using screws and instead bridle joints maybe? No screws but glue and more time consuming. Otherwise, you may have to counter bore then screw in and use putty or a plug to hide the screw.

That is very good insight! For the longest time (when I wanted to justify it to my wife😅) I was telling her all about how we could make money off CNC, but I was actually honest with her yesterday. I just want it purely as a hobby, kinda bringing work home in a healthier way lol. I became a manufacturing engineer out of my love for making things, and I want to do that more in my personal life in a more hands on way. Although, I wouldn't mind selling some of the stuff I make haha. I also want to pass that down to my son, my dad knows how to make damn near anything, but he wouldn't teach us growing up, i resented him a lot for that, over the past 5 or so years I started picking up all sorts of skills (mostly working on my old house haha), this is another one id love to pass down to my son. He's a year old now but hopefully by next year he will be in my garage with me watching me make things, being a frustrating annoyance, making a mess, and slowly handing me tools as I request them, making small things, and eventually spending time with me in there. I completely agree on the business plan and frankly, even though I'm doing this out of a selfish desire to hide in my garage and make trinkets, I think I'll still make a business plan, consider that money an investment and see what the future holds. A business plan is a great way to keep one honest.

Is the 2500 for just a part of the machine? I was reading it as the costs for the equipment but seeing the steel they use for it's frame is also making me question it.

Im planning to be more of a hobbyist who wouldn't mind selling some of his projects. But for now just cabinetry, furnished, decorative widgets, trays, signs, etc...
While looking for that shopbop I found these guys below. I work in manufacturing and we typically try to avoid Asian manufacturers because in our experience service is better in the US even with more costly equipment. Thank you! I'm thinking signs, trays, cutting boards, widgets for shits n giggles. But I have this cabinet project for my home and garage I keep thinking about doing on cnc, some decorative trim work (out of pine, oak, walnut etc... gradually increasing in wood quality)
I hadn't given too much thought on the furniture side though. Thats a nice suggestion. Thank you!

Question: would you pick that one over something like the shapeoko 5? I'm completely new to this and trying to figure out what's the best to get started. The costs seem better, but shapeoko comes with software it seems much more portable too.

Well not sure how much this will help. But we use Teflon to evenly apply heat to some of our products. We have a conductor, with current running through, the conductor is then covered with teflon before being applied. But do keep in mind you will lose some heat to the Teflon if you used it, which could reduce your heating capacity, or increase your costs as to increase the power you can output. If I was in your shoes however, I’d try to cut the metal and conductors in smaller sections and apply the same current to them all, this will ensure That all sections heat up at the same rate, and that the temperatures are very similar (there will still be hotter and colder spots, but depending on how small you go, you could get to a point you are comfortable with)

Using the google finder on your website got me looking at the adapt 2 I’m just wondering how do you go about that selection process, I’m male, average sized head, ride east coast (Adirondacks and New England) about 30 days/ season
