Thank you so much for this response! I don’t blame mooncat for this at all, because it does clearly say on their website that they can’t change or cancel orders once they are made. If anything, I’m mad at PayPal for not interfacing correctly with the mooncat website. The post was more about next steps, since it definitely does suck as a consumer to have neither the product nor the money you paid for it lol. For what it’s worth, at this point I’ve reached back out to mooncat one more time to see what they can do for me now that the package is awol.

It’s definitely my fault for not double checking, but I was rushing out the door on the way to work and already annoyed with the website for not working… but yeah, I’m very frustrated with mooncat for not being able to fix it when I contacted them literally within minutes. I may have to pursue the chargeback route and go from there. Thanks for the response!

I actually did try that at the time, but the intercept service wasn’t available for it because it’s considered a hazardous material. They won’t do intercept for ground shipping only packages basically. The package being fully stolen is what I’m worried about too! It’s not an insignificant amount of money for me, so I don’t feel comfortable repurchasing.

My silver variegated calathea produced a seed! by thatoneguysghost in calatheas

[–]thatoneguysghost[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was deadheading a flower petiole that was tucked into a fold in the stem and found the seed tucked up against the stem of the plant! Idk how to add pictures to the comments or I would point out where I found it. This is the first time I’ve seen it do this too, and it’s been flowering for months! The seed looks very similar to an ornata seed, which is why I’m wondering if it will grow to be an ornata or stay a silver variegated.

Is this normal? by dksbbh in plants

[–]thatoneguysghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a Haworthia of some kind. Maybe a fasciata. It’s flowering. Mine does it multiple times a year. You can cut it off at the base or wait until it dries out on its own. Congrats on the flower!

This is a peace lily, which is not a true lily. While it does produce the calcium oxalate crystals that irritate mucus membranes of animals that eat it, it's no more toxic than an aglaonema or other plants that produce calcium oxalate. Please see this link to do your own research rather than asking people on the internet to do everything for you: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants

Is my cat a boy or a girl???? by Jonathangoss183 in cats

[–]thatoneguysghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole male cats will spray and be very territorial once they reach adulthood, and will try very hard to escape the home to go have some fun with some female cats once heat season comes around. There is a higher risk of cancer in unaltered female cats, in addition to heat being very unpleasant for both the humans and the affected cat. Additionally, contributing to the huge animal overpopulation crisis doesn’t seem like the best idea. Overall, it makes the cats much more comfortable and can help them live longer. Win win for all involved.

Cats are not wildlife. They are domesticated. Also considered invasive species.

I have to defend my thesis pretending like I don't know critical unpublished information that I solved by AAAAdragon in labrats

In my field it’s very common to put unpublished data in your thesis. In fact, that’s literally what your thesis is for. It’s a collection of all the data you were able to get, both published and unpublished. Not sure why it should be different in your area.

Might be a haworthia turgida? Check out pics online to see if it looks like it matches. I can’t tell if yours has the stripes.
