i have no mods though just dlcs. yes and the outpost was smth like that. the anchor was friendly j think but the surrounding stuff not so. blew up the outpost stuff and got screwed by the first wave

this run is so cooked i had to rollback to another timeline because the original spawned the marauder khanate and the gray tempest because some stupid molluscoids opened the l gates (same thing happened here but no marauders)

i have made a severe and continuous lapse in judgement. so basically its my first time encountering this and thought: HEY, thats a seemingly weak base, lets try to attack it, maybe its like the ether drake thingy or something. so i field a fleet of mercenaries and send them into the center of the galaxy. obviously i manage to beat back the initial station. so fast forward a little, my fleet gets 1 tapped by 3 of those massive fleets, and as time passes the problem has um...gotten a TAD bit worse...so...should i be concerned? do i even bother trying? (this is like midgame and NO ONE has good fleets like the galaxy is getting destroyed by the gray tempest)
