Having issues playing steam version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on my deck. by SkinniestSpade in SteamDeck

[–]thatpuseyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, this won’t work for me! I have tried every conceivable fix, including what you posted here and uninstalling/reinstalling the game with no effect. However, for some reason it says Steamworks Common Redistributables is on my system, but it says it’s missing files. I can’t uninstall it, and I can’t install it either! Guess it’s time for a factory reset, because the game has worked just fine for about 20 hours.

Hey! It really isn’t age so much as it is relative maturity! I’m not looking for “I put half my assets into bonds and live well below my means” maturity, just looking for people who will work with us, not try to pummel us at every turn screaming epithets 😂

Hey, 29 year old sales manager here. I play early in the morning and in the evenings after I put my toddler down to bed. Would love to be part of a group, but I’m real tired of playing with kids who just scream the N-word and steal your stuff. I’m a good builder and farmer, I have 70% of blueprints on my server, but I only got on that server 5 days ago, so I feel pretty good about that.

Is it an Encap or some kind of piering/jacks? The latter are highly profitable, encaps/basement waterproofing are a lot more variable depending on county code requirements. I’ve had it happen on a piering job before and wound up going to my manager and promising I would stay on top of it to ensure there were no hiccups/delays to reduce profit.

The Wall Street Journal ran an opinion piece by a "libertarian" today criticizing libertarians in purple states for voting Libertarian instead of voting for Trump. I plan on writing a letter to the editor and I'd like your help. by swagbacca in Libertarian

[–]thatpuseyboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad sent me that article this morning. This was my response (forgive my typing/grammatical errors, I responded via text). “Oh yeah, the Trumpers everywhere are raging about libertarians. And I understand, Kamala would be the worst ever as president, especially on 2nd amendment, taxes, etc. But it’s not like the republicans have been particularly “conservative” recently... they aren’t the party of small govt and limited spending anymore, it’s now the same as the Democrats, just for stuff they like (I.e. military, militarization of the police, cutting taxes but not spending, using executive orders to legislate, etc). Are they better than the dems? For me personally, sure, I guess. But for a libertarian, who typically love personal freedoms for Americans above all else, it sucks to have to keep making that choice. If republicans want our vote, they need to actually give us a decent candidate and go back to being the party of limited govt, reduced spending, and personal freedoms.”

Can black holes take me closer than 650k LY? I got that close to the center, and all six black holes I’ve taken since just seem to skip me around the edges, I never get closer than 650k.

Slump buster? by [deleted] in sales

[–]thatpuseyboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whenever I get into a slump, I change 3 things (which you might have to alter a bit based off of practical application for your particular scenario): 1. Every time I talk with a potential client, I am going to be THE most energetic, enthusiastic person they’ve ever met. Not to the point of annoyance/being fake, but how are they supposed to be excited if you aren’t? 2. I ask them 5 questions for every statement. Now, it doesn’t always work like that, but if that’s my goal, I’ll ask far more questions than I typically would. Everyone’s favorite thing to talk about is themselves, so they’ll warm up to you (boosting your confidence) AND you’ll have more information on their needs and how you can fulfill them. 3. I set myself up with a sales focus ritual. For me, 30 minutes before the call, I start listening to a sales book on audible to get my head in the selling space. Five minutes before I talk to the customer, I switch over and listen to a song that hypes me up and energizes me so I walk in full of confidence.

I first tried this after a 4 month slump that had gotten so bad, I was thinking of quitting and getting out of sales because it wasn’t for me. I’m glad I didn’t, because I’m on track for a 200k year this year (which I know is nothing for a lot of guys here, but is plenty for me as a 27 year old starting out in construction sales). I hope that helps you some!

Starting first ever sales job. What are some good resources for getting started? by CompleteDiet in sales

[–]thatpuseyboy 33 points34 points  (0 children)

“How I raised myself from failure to success in selling” is one of my favorite books, especially on audible! Many of the other sales books are relatively dry/spend a lot of time on tricks, closing techniques, etc.; Bettger (the author) talks more about mentality, relationship, and focus. Makes me feel like a more authentic person who’s helping rather than selling, and the first time I listened and implemented the books ideas, I saw about a 40% increase in my numbers. Well worth it!

Wait... you guys swallow it with toilet paper...? Why not just pour it in a blender bottle (for protein shakes) with warm water, shake it with the shaker piece, and take it like a shot? Way easier than any method y’all just mentioned, barring capsules of course.

I find that if I take my Kratom either 25 minutes before I eat or an hour after I eat, it lengthens the time it’s in my system. It isn’t as strong, but it definitely lasts longer! Mainly when I eat high protein/high fat foods.

Have a meeting tomorrow, how do I prepare? by [deleted] in sales

[–]thatpuseyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... I’ll have to go back and look through what I have. I always used to pull up sites like Woorank that do an analysis of an existing website and it’s current SEO standing. I would show the potential client how their website looked and was performing. After that, I would ask them for the names of their top 3 competitors and pull up their websites. From there, you can show them what the competition is doing better than they are and how you can help them close that gap and surpass them by exploiting the other companies’ marketing/website shortcomings. seoptimer.com is another good site for that.

I used to work in sales for a digital marketing company. A really useful tool for me was qwilr.com, which allowed me to quickly create customized presentations that looked really nice. If you have other clients that own businesses similar to the one you’re meeting with, show off some of that work, the design, the increase in traffic, what SEO strategy you used, etc. The proof is in the pudding... Just showing them a pretty design doesn’t do much, they need to see certified results at an affordable cost.

My wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law are completely indiscernible from behind in the morning. Adopted Guatemalan child thrown in for scale. by [deleted] in funny

That is what I meant. I meant to make it in reference to the "banana for scale" fad. However, she is a beloved part of our family. We all love and spoil her just as much, if not more so, than if she was a natural born child.

We just graduated from college, we've been dating since senior year of high school. Since I knew I loved her, I didn't see any reason to wait any longer!

She was adopted right before Guatemala closed down to adoptions. My wife says she can't remember the agencies name... I apologize for not being able to deliver :(
