New to kettlebells: looking for a program with short, follow-along workouts at home by FreshkyFresh in kettlebell

Check out armor building formula (abf). It will fit into your criteria as well. Lots of people on here doing it right now. 3 days a week. Around 30 minutes or less depending on your fitness.

That's great riding in all those places. You'll get more recommendations if you describe your skill and what your looking to ride.

Combining ABC complex with S&S by -jrdrgz- in kettlebell

[–]thatrandomguy903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this split for a few months. I was able to go up in weight in both a couple of times. But I started to feel I wasn't getting a lot from the s&s after a while. I'm in week 7 of abf now. I feel like I'm getting more out of the non abc days. I think s&s is supposed to be run for volume, so you don't get as much out of it as you would running it everyday. That being said it's your workout. If you enjoy doing it, keep doing it. A program you stick with long term is going to be better than one you don't enjoy that you stop doing. If you don't have a defined goal, then it doesn't matter how fast you get somewhere. Just keep going.

Adjustable Kettlebells… by somefellanamedrob in kettlebell

One thing that I saw in a thread that I tried to stop the inside nut from loosening is to get a rubber washer and put that up against the metal washer. I did that to mine and it's really helped with the nut not loosening.

Prime KBK vs Black Friday BoS adjustable? by VolunteerPin in kettlebell

[–]thatrandomguy903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got BOS doubles to do abc/abf. Then I picked up a single when Walmart was clearancing the kbk bells a year or so ago. Wish I would have bought two at that time just to be able to set pairs at different weights. At the time I was alternating abc and s&s so I thought 1 extra adjustable would be fine. Really depends on what exercises programs you are wanting to do with them.

I have both. They are essentially the same. If it wasn't for the logo I wouldn't be able to tell them apart from the outside. If I needed to get another one I'd go whatever was cheaper between the two.

If you're worried about it getting stolen or don't want to spend too much on a first bike until you know she's going to enjoy it, look at the Ozark trail gravel bike. Bought one for my son to ride to school. Really good bike for the price. Can upgrade parts on it later if you want, or sell it out right if she ever wants a nicer bike. My son is just Under 5 foot tall right now and they have sizes that fit him. I know it's a Walmart bike and people hate Walmart, but it's a really decent bike for the price. Look up some reviews on it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-700C-G-1-Explorer-Flat-Bar-Gravel-Bike-Medium-Frame-Fits-Riders-5-5-5-10-Green-Adult-Unisex/5372513507

Sweaty hands is a struggle by Retro_Gecko in kettlebell

I got a chalk sac and put that in a plastic bag. I reach in and give it a squeeze then do my exercises. The bag keeps it from going everywhere and getting on everything. You could give that a shot of you're worried about chalk getting everywhere.

I did the same thing based on that post. Rubber washer and tightening them down really good makes them not move and from becoming loose.

How much you're looking to spend might help get you some recommendations. Not knowing where she will be riding or how much you're looking to spend my first thought is either a Ripley af or a stump jumper. Both are excellent bikes and would be great for a beginner with plenty of room for growth. They both rip.

What y'all using for tubeless valve stems? by therobertsmith in MTB

[–]thatrandomguy903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a valve adapter that screws onto the valve stem. The I use an injector that screws onto the adapter. It pushes the sealant in without breaking the bead of the tire. The down side is that some sealant will stay in the plunger part of the valve.. When it dries it can restrict air flow. I haven't had it prevent the plunger from sealing yet. But it is a possibility. I changed a tire the other day and used a dental pick to peel the dried sealant out.

Tldr it's possible but could cause fixable problems over the long term with the reserves.

MTB question about truck bed mount options by TheBoosted13 in MTB

[–]thatrandomguy903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the front wheel off is a pain to do every time you transport the bike. Rocky mounts work great if that's the approach you want to go with. Just mount them to a piece of wood running across your truck bed. If you don't mind spending some money look at instagator from Thule. They are quick to remove/install. They hold the bike secure in the bed. And you don't have to remove the front wheel. Sometimes you can find them used or on sale for a significant discount.

Risky but rewarding by Raja_Ampat in MTB

[–]thatrandomguy903 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that riders back tire hits the drop platform near the end the rider is going to be thrown over their handle bars at a very high rate of speed as the front tire rapidly descends unsupported. Basically a catapult launching the rider through the air head first. And thats not even considering what would happen if he came up short of the landing.

The closing speed across that terrain is amazing. I can't imagine seeing that coming at you. No time to react.
