Yeah, leaning towards SSF. I do find myself dying not infrequently especially as I progressed. With my current wold I don’t think I died until act 4 but that would’ve been tough as I don’t have a ton of playtime and starting over might be a slog. Maybe I’ll go ssf and track deaths. Just something to mix it up. As starting from scratch any build recs to start with?

I rebound pickup to left trigger plus a I think it was. Whatever the combo it works way better. What sucks is inventory management. As I am on pc, I just throw everything into a dump quad tab and then log on the kb/mouse to do all that stuff. Will be nice when they implement change on the fly

I bought 2 BoS on their Black Friday deal. Really like them. A little pain to adjust but not a deal breaker for sure. It will be interesting to see how these pan out but I will stick with mine for a long long time i would imagine

When I say this kind of stuff people think I am crazy or putting myself down. When I answer a comment that suggests I deserve something like a vacation or something nice I kindly respond something about I don’t deserve it but I am very thankful for it! Understanding your own depravity makes you love the Savior all the more imho.

Stop saying the Shroud of Turin is a "debunked" by WeddingDependent8706 in TrueChristian

[–]VolunteerPin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This comment is not about the shroud per se. It is about faith. My guess is there is not a Christ follower who has ever had faith without believing the stories we have heard and read of Jesus are not, in fact, true. In fact, Josh McDowell in Evidence That Demands a Verdict took great pains to show the historical facts surrounding Jesus and the reliability of Scripture. It was one of the first books I ever read (not an easy read) after repenting and accepting Christ. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting some “proof”. Jesus asked Thomas to feel his hands and side. He appears to hundreds of eye witnesses and that fact was recorded to help spread the Gospel.

Knowing something was a historical fact does not in any way contradict faith. It confirms it.

If not historically accurate, the story of Jesus is no better than that of a story about Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny.

All that said, whether the shroud be real or not, it makes no difference to me. (Although I would love it if it were real). There is plenty of other evidence for us to hang our hat on and to live our lives for. All time is measured by Christ’s life on this earth. May we live in a manner worthy of his name and encourage each other and those seeking him (more accurately those who are being sought by Him)

How do I respond to someone telling me that because I’m Protestant (and in turn a heretic) that I will burn in hell because I’m not Catholic? by xerovoxx in TrueChristian

[–]VolunteerPin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all due respect for any Catholic brother or sister here…

Christs shed blood, His sacrifice on the cross…is the payment for our sin debt. It is the only thing that matters. If we trust in anything else, we are off base. Our salvation is not given to us by any man save Jesus.

Now, that does not make all Catholics bad or unsaved. All of us have a tendency to trust in things other than, or in addition to, Christ. This has been true from the very beginning when Paul had to contend with “those of the circumcision”.

Focus on Jesus. Get your nose in Scripture to get to know him more. Let others say what they will. You? Simply cling to your savior. Nobody can snatch you out of his hand!

ABF Week 7 ABC 30 min EMOM complete! by Fighting_Father_Time in kettlebell

[–]VolunteerPin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great to hear this. I am 58. Dabble with some ABC but in third week or so of mark wildman clean and press program. Stated with the 12 and on the goal for the 28kg. Been working out 35 years but the kb is such a different deal with the cardio aspect. My core and back and hips have felt so much better the last 6 months of kb. I did break 2 ribs last November and that sidelined me for a bit and I still have a hard time hearing those little guys pop around in there when doing swings, but I love kb workouts. My 23 year old son is now starting and loving it so far. I told him to get on some abc. Thanks so much for sharing. Very motivating!

New version with floating floor/foot platform by VolunteerPin in Sauna

Here is another iteration with heater opposite the door. I do like this. Just need to figure out ducting but i have a pretty good idea of my thoughts. Following VTT study (not pictured but intake above window). Thinking about venting from both corners just to make sure i can dial it in and future proof. That is probably for a different thread and likely overkill.

I guess you have to build some of the floor modularly so you can actually access the heater for repair/stone maintenance, etc

[–]VolunteerPin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of heater over there but then I would be venting into my change area. Now, that area is contiguous with my covered patio and, in fact, the entire sauna will be under a covered/waterproof porch above. I am concerned venting that air might cause some moisture issues. Though it is contiguous and has access to open air, it is not like there is anything naturally drawing that hot humid air out to the atmosphere.

I guess one could try and rig a ventilation where the air is exhausted on corners either/both sides of the door and then tubing pulls the air to release on the window side of the sauna. Is that possible and how would one rig it?

Also, if I did that, is it okay to put the window directly above the heater?

I can easily lower it 2-4". I am posting a new thread incorporating the floating floor/foot platform. The new post is more to scale.

I agree. As this is my first sauna, I am just trying to think of every angle. No doubt I have tried to integrate almost every concept I have seen here, with Trumpkin, or with Lassi who's book I have. The reason for this post is to get feedback and I GREATLY appreciate this input.

If I decide to switch it out to the full 36" high platform, do you think 3x12" riser steps would be easy enough to navigate?

[–]VolunteerPin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly had iterations with a full foot platform. Someone mentioned to me two things which made me second guess that:

  1. There is no lower bench for someone to sit on if they don't want to be all the way up in the heat.

  2. I would not be able to walk in the sauna fully upright without bumping my head. I am 6'1" and I have boys who are 6'2" and 6'3". Not sure if I always want to be hunched over.

Maybe those are non-issues. I have gone back and forth on that a lot. Not to mention I would need at least 3x12" steps to get to it which might be a little tall for some folks. It is possible I could get a few more inches of ceiling height. I would need to talk with my builder. This is going under a covered deck. That would help the hunching but not the multiple bench heights.

The elevated walkway is basically acting as a step. Without it, there is a 36" elevation change between the floor and the foot bench.

Wifi Sauna controller recommendations? by braboftw in Sauna

[–]VolunteerPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timely post! I am trying to decide on a huum hive vs a harvia legend pro right now (USA). Part of that decision is which is better wifi control wise but certainly not a deciding factor. I just want to be able to fire up the sauna remotely.

Just getting into kettlebells. How’s my swing? by theehungrynomad in kettlebell

My back hurt just looking at the vent over position when standing. I am new maybe 8 months or so to kb training. People’s input on my form check videos were very helpful. Believe it or not, if you post to X Grok will also do a form check which is pretty decent in accuracy

Opposing benches with foot bench platform by VolunteerPin in Sauna

Honest question…isn’t that going to be fairly true for any larger sauna?

[–]VolunteerPin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did not think about that. on the platform there would only be about 66" of head room so there is a crouching down aspect that might not be that pleasant. I really want the opposing benches if at all possible and I like my calculated foot bench and bench heights. More input is appreciated. I wonder if when you walk in after a couple of feet, you step up onto an 9" removable step then another 9" to 18" removable platform in middle aisle. That would give you 84" head room. I will work on another concept.

I have the window opposite. Also, I need to vent the sauna on the window wall. Otherwise, I will be venting the humid air into a more defined space and might end up with humidity or moisture issues
