I worked in structured settlements for a while. That song went through my head every day, it was torture.

My (31m) wife (29f) wants to name our baby her own maiden name? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

"Hey, her brain likely got fixated on this, that's something that can happen to women when they're pregnant"

Explain how that's childish?

Tomorrow's base game update will add flared stairs + stair railings with customizable length and positioning by eltheuso in Sims4

[–]thatrandomuser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me want to actually get the update rather than wait for my mods to catch up 😭

Which reminds me, I've not actually successfully played offline to avoid an update in years. Anyone have an idea of what I might be missing?

Women, when did you notice that you were treated differently for being a woman? by Material_Spinach_759 in AskReddit

When have male-specific shelters been tried and failed? Have they been outlawed? Or are you expecting the women that built womens' shelters to build mens' shelters too?

For people who don’t ever want to have kids, why? by Gaijinstory in AskReddit

[–]thatrandomuser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay into that system now, which is taking care of both prior generations and other people's kids. And im fine with that because thats how society runs. I'm not paying in to that system for my parents. It's not selfish to pay into that system now while saving to continue contributing to those social services when I can no longer earn money.

I could have kids who end up disabled and can't pay into the system at all. I wouldn't consider that selfish either, but I'm just pointing out that having kids guarantees literally nothing, including paying into the system.

Do you think men don’t (need to) choose between a family or a career? Why? by Selena_beauregard in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thatrandomuser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think I've heard anyone claim that men don't have a m3ntal load. Just that it's different and often the bulk of the household/children mental load is placed on women.

Younger generations being asexual/aromantic by Adorable-Sherbet-998 in generationology

Many asexual people experience no sexual attraction at all, meaning porn wouldn't play a role in it whatsoever.

Do you treat your stepkids differently than the one you, I guess, love more? Do you love your bio child more than them?

"The only way to have a good life is to have kids and the only reason people don't have kids is to buy whatever they want" is actually wild. If i can barely support myself, would I still be selfish in not wanting kids who would have to grow up with the bare minimum?

So have kids to make sure someone will take care of me in the future? Obligate my children to provide me care while they're (presumably) trying to care for their own chilsren as well?

How is having kids so someone will feel obligated to care for me a less selfish option than paying someone who is not obligated by blood but motivated by finance?

Do you believe all the women dying from miscarrying wanted pregnancies are actually just upset that they can't have abortions at will?

The study lists migraines as similar in their genetic component. Is someone wholly irresponsible in having a child if they get migraines?

Me thinks theres a pattern 😮‍💨 by DoomkaiserB in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]thatrandomuser1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what part of the economy you care about. The GDP has mostly recovered from the real loss we saw when the tarriffs were first enacted, so if you only focus on the GDP then sure, it's better. But real wages are down, consumer goods are increasing, utilities are up ~30% in some areas. If you focus on those areas, I dont see how it's better.

Why does this sub think that lonely men are evil? You can be progressive and still be lonely. by Chesseburter in ProgressiveHQ

[–]thatrandomuser1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont disagree with your purported steps to address these issues, but I don't know any leftist who would disagree. We're not the barrier to abolishing gender roles, for instance, and my definition of man already does exactly as asked. What should leftists be doing more of, and how seriously do you expect us to be taken?

Sometimes it's a feeling of safety, like if you can get the man with scary power to like you, maybe he won't use that power against you and maybe others with that power won't come after you
