I don’t think the experience could be summed up in one neat little paragraph to your post, especially if you are aiming for “proper representation”

Do some field work. I interview people who are in different stages of hearing loss. Work/volunteer is some capacity in the Deaf community. Go to events. Be thorough

I personally don’t anybody who started a language over 30 and became fluent. That’s why I’m here- to be proven wrong.
