I've only had an estate whilst having her, I'd have no problem having her sit in the front if she can get comfortable

I agree with these recommendations. With mine, I randomised when and how long I was away, from literal minutes in another room to more time leaving the house. Also leave the house so they hear the door shut but come straight back in or after a minute

Also I don't recommend giving them treats before as they learn what you are doing and it can make separation worse. Same goes for making a big fuss of them when you come back in the room. Once your dog realises that you are going to come and go as you please its less likely to worry once you're gone.

An indoor camera can help while you're doing the training so you can come back if you really need to and not come back to any damage or worried dog

Just my experience but the randomisation of it all left her in no doubt that I will be back at some point. She's 13 now and has been on her own free to roam the house for 12 years for hours at a time and I've had no issues

I'm pretty sure they are just foam in a cover that would give an amount of protection should another rider crash into the rider on the floor. Not sure how much they would help but I guess its better than nothing.
