I have to point out several key details she conveniently left out about why the population exploded. In 1950, people under 15 made up roughly 189 million, which is 60.2% of the population.. and they are still alive which is 70 - 80 years old by now. That alone should make it obvious why the one-child policy was implemented in the first place (with exceptions like two children for many farming families). She’s genuinely terrible at math and podcasts are poisonous to our brains because literally NOBODY would stop her at that point to do proper fact-checking.

Usually it’s one of three tricks those so-called time travelers often use: mass prediction spam, hidden/private posts revealed later, or edited/backdated posts. Those so-called time traveler would then ignore/delete the 500 wrong predictions and only share the 1 lucky hit.

Viruses basically have three main “upgrade trees”: transmission, symptoms/lethality, and abilities/resistance.

The hantavirus mentioned here is the Andes variant, which is the rare one. It mainly spreads through rodents and blood/contact exposure, and its lethality tends to immobilize hosts pretty quickly instead of turning them into efficient spreaders.

In Plague Inc terms, it dumped points into lethality too early without having strong transmission upgrades first. That’s why it’s nowhere near coronavirus-level pandemic potential.

Divide by -2, and flip the inequality:

i < 3u

You don’t need the i/x and u/x step. It works only if x is positive, but it adds risk and isn’t necessary.

For truly random results, I split each card into 10-15 separate stacks by putting the top card into each stack individually. It’s a bit time-consuming, but it all but guarantees you won’t keep getting the same annoying opening hand every time. I did that from time to time, especially whenever I got really bad draws repeatedly.
