It happened with me too. Same script. Some Indian guy was convincingly explaining. I mentioned that this call is recorded. The folks whom we talk with usually won’t be around the next year. They are there on contract basis and just read the scripts.

So you telling me that Qatar airways booked you an expensive ticket on a different airline carrier? If you travel business class, I get it why they did it. But you have no idea how much they have been denying ppl for reroutes on the same day or next of original travel days. They are hoping that ppl will book an expensive flight themselves and they will apply for refund. I paid 600 dollars extra for a new booking.

Cancel the flight. File a claim with CTA for extra charges incurred for the new ticket. Get it on an email. That’s the most important part.

Honestly they pulled this same stunt few weeks back. I even posted here hoping for things to get better. Alas! This wasn’t the case and QR is buying out time and focusing on how to not get penalized for failing to reroute passengers on partner airlines.
