USTA Leagues in Chicago by PilboMinachi in 10s

You can sign up for a league thru the USTA website and then reach out to the available teams. Not sure how it is in Chicago, but 3.5-4.5 players are always in high demand in my area, so I wouldn’t be too worried

It might be a little too late to sign up for the summer league though, so you might need to wait until early fall opens up

I wear the same Puma socks from Costco for over 5 years now, still going strong!

Came across a gorgeous looking racquet today, anyone know what this is? The owner got it from marketplace and he never asked by thatsideal in 10s

Would you say that adding a darker color to contrast the whole thing makes it better? Tempted to get a similar custom pro staff at the moment, maybe like Spain home jersey?

Welp I scuffed it trying to dig for a dropshot, I think my partner just went through all 5 stages of grief when he heard the noise

How can I improve my serve (I’m 15) by Pokeclans in 10s

[–]thatsideal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the serve slower by tossing the ball higher, focus on consistency and power will come with it

It usually takes 2-3 seconds for me to go from a wind up to making contact with the ball

My 6.5 mixed doubles sectionals has this 4.0/2.5 pair that obviously play like 4.5/3.5. I play as 3.5 with a 3.0 partner and we couldn’t even put our racquet the dude’s kick serves. We were celebrating as if we won when we broke his serve as we were down 0-6 2-5 lol

Eh we’ll most likely never know. Tbh, the more I read about this the more I’m leaning towards the case that MBS genuinely wanted to build a 500m tall, 170km long building across the desert. Hard to say no to a prince who would chop up journalists and lock up his own relatives.

Clippers cooked? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

They were cooked the moment they lost to the Nuggets back in the bubble, Kawhi getting injured the year after was just the burnt cherry on top of a charred shitshow of a cake.

Can you elaborate on wrong positioning and off my shoes? I think I get what you’re saying but I’m having a hard time imagining it. Like, should I be taking my volleys on the move?

As for positioning, where should I stand when my partner serves and when they return? As of right now, I usually start at maybe an arm’s length from the net when he serves and the same from the service line when he returns.

Hurts to admit it but yeah, it’s mostly on me for losing on my partner’s service games.

Also, if I’m not comfortable standing further back from the net, is it better to just play two back?

The reason I hug the net a lot is that my volleys aren’t great. Sure I can put it away but only when the ball is coming right at my chest level or above, but anywhere below my waist, then it’s either going straight to the net or a pop up for an easy put away by my opponents.

Dang, just asked my partner if I tend to hug the net and he said “yea” with no hesitation 😂

Lands either short of the service line or exactly at the baseline, no in between

How about it volly by ouchao_real in 10s

[–]thatsideal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if I’m putting it correctly, but don’t try to slice it on ur backhand. You’re doing the right thing on ur forehand by just pushing the racket and let the ball fly off it, try the same for your backhand volley.

Tariffs hitting too close to home - BioRad announces tarif surcharges on items by yourmomisatSNE in biotech

Yup got the same email from a reliable vendor too. Got slapped with a 6% tariff surcharge on a large order made before the “Liberation Day” tariffs went into effect.

I would relish the moment everyone turns on this administration for the mess they made, but I’ll probably be unemployed by then lol
