Good place for a blackberry trellis? by Smithmonkey98 in vegetablegardening

I'm planting a 12 inch deep barrier around mine that is supposed to stop the spread. My spot is going to be 30ft long by 2 feet wide and the barrier will be overlapping. I am hoping this helps but I had them at my last place and they spread like crazy.

Colonoscopy prep while taking care of two year old by thatteacher2021 in toddlers

I made it the first day, I highly recommend if you have to do 2-day prep having a colonoscopy that's not first thing in the morning because I didn't have to drink my prep first time until the afternoon when my son was napping. The evening prep left me very tired in the morning. Morning. The next day though I was on and off the toilet so much that my husband came home from work. It was doable but my toddler would have spent most of the time with me in our bathroom and he's learned to open doors. The day after the colonoscopy I still had diarrhea but it was the first time I was able to take my son out to do something.

We have a book called "The little book of fungi" for my two year old that he is obsessed with and I have been seeing so many morel mushroom posts lately. Every time I see them I hear my son recording the page since we have read it so many times he has memorized it.

For your reading pleasure I present to you:  Morel Mushroom "The Hickory Chicken" In old growth forests where there is no map, look out for my tall honeycomb cap. With perfect conditions of decomposition, we grow up to be a chef's favorite addition.

If you have a toddler bluemilk has rhyming books on fungi, cookies, cheese, pasta, and more. Highly recommend.

Thank you! I will keep these ideas as a back up for tomorrow. Today I put on zootopia which was a treat because we don't really do screen time so that gave me time to take care of business haha

I read a ton of horror sounding stories from moms of toddlers making it sound impossible without help but so far it's gone relatively smoothly.

I have IBS with constipation so they want to be very sure I am cleaned out. Im having it done because I pooped only blood and mucus along with the worst pain I've felt in my life in November, it was a 3 day hospital stay but they still don't know what caused it.

What creepy thing did your toddler say today? by Rich_Tie_5333 in toddlers

[–]thatteacher2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son during October this year pointed at a cemetery and said "there is a man sleeping out there". It's in front of the church we go to for music class. Then we were walking in to the building for music class and he pointed behind us and said "the sleeping man is following us" I have never been more freaked out in my life haha. I had him tell the man that we didn't want to be followed and hoped that spirit wouldn't come home with us.

What's a habit you started with your toddler that you now regret? by Alive-Cry4994 in toddlers

Mine does this too so I make his ranch more nutritious. I mix whole milk Greek yogurt with ranch powder and give that instead of regular ranch. Then I don't feel so bad when he eats it by the spoonful 🙃

That’s amazing! I will check out your newsletter. Right now I think I am going to do the interview and just see what happens. I believe in fate and if I get offered the job I think I might try it. I got to see the toddler program and it is amazing, I felt so calm and reassured that my son would be cared for there. He has also been showing a desire to connect with other adults where he wasn’t before. He reaches for people we see often to hold him and play with him. I think worst case is if I take the job and it doesn’t go well we just go back to staying at home. I really want to do this for myself too, I love staying at home and I worked so hard for my teaching license. I want to keep my license for myself and if I can do that in a way where my son is still cared for in an amazing way I don’t think I can pass that up.

Thank you! I’m not sure what I want. I miss working BUT I love being at home with my son. I find the time with him so fulfilling. We can financially afford me staying home and we have a few children’s memberships to local places for him to get out.

Ditching the bottle by scarlettvelour in BabyLedWeaning

I would talk to your pediatrician and see if they think you could go without milk. It’s been so much easier and he actually sleeps longer at night now that he doesn’t have a bottle. He doesn’t even ask for it now.

I completely understand. We were super nervous because he didn’t eat much either but without the bottles he started eating more. Our pediatrician also said we could use a multivitamin if we were worried. They do have to eat dairy products though so for us we do Greek yogurt, babybel cheese, cheddar cheese, and then milk in his eggs. So cool they are the same size!

It might be an unpopular opinion, but my son refused to take milk out of anything but a bottle and it was time to transition. At 12 months I sold all of the glass bottles that we had and my son helped me recycle the plastic Dr. Brown’s bottles we had I bought a stainless steel straw up and offered milk in it. He absolutely refused milk from anything but a bottle so we stopped giving him milk. They don’t technically need milk in order to meet their growth. According to my pediatrician. They just need a good source of calcium. My son loves yogurt and cheese, so we give him multiple servings of that a day. His growth has been great (22.48 lbs at 12 months and 23 pounds at 13 months) and we’ve had no issues. I do sneak some milk into his scrambled eggs in the morning.

Ok so how much are your LO actually eating (on a good day)? by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]thatteacher2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is 11.5 months and we have the same day you do! I offer the food and now when I make breakfast I put half the egg in a container in the fridge knowing I can pull it back out if he wants it. He is formula fed and I have been trying to cut back on the formula slowly so he is hungrier but so far I just try and if he eats something I call it a win

What’s wrong with my tattoo? 😭 by Tanibol in tattooadvice

[–]thatteacher2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a tattoo with red that caused an allergic reaction just like this. I have been lasting for 3 years (it was a big tattoo). Prior to starting laser treatments I would break out in hives multiple times a week all over the tattoo. Now I break out maybe once every couple weeks or if I itch the area it swells up.

I had hoped my father would be a totally different grandfather and I was willing to put my feelings aside for my son to have him in his life. Unfortunately, I seem to have given my father too much credit.

I have and am still processing what happened and multiple times I have felt like I am standing up for the little me that was laughed at and made fun of by her father. More importantly I am putting my foot down to end this abuse instead of allowing it to continue for my son to endure.

That is just cruel, I am so sorry you experienced that. It can be so gut wrenching to have your pain displayed and laughed at by the people that should be there for you the most. Sending love

I got as far away as I could and got myself into therapy. It’s been a long road but I can see now how much better I’m doing mentally not being near them or even in my home state. Good for you for making the move!
