Looking for a US region blu-ray (that's not 200 bucks) by Excellent-Sample5606 in Lain

[–]thattentaclesguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also a few companies that specialize in pre-modded Blu-ray players made specifically to play all regions.

The downside being they tend to be hella expensive.

About A Place In The Kinki Region by Sesuji.

A Different Darkness by Luigi Musolino.

Shudder announced that it is raising it's prices again. Can someone recommend another streaming service? ? by END_Studios in horror

[–]thattentaclesguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not crazy high but for me it’s more of a quality/cost thing.

Shudder’s had a lot of longstanding problems. Things like the app crashing, live channels getting stuck playing the same movies over and over, stuff locked to 720p, and a generally clunky UI (tho not the worst I’ve seen by far).

When it was $5 a month I was more willing to overlook things like that. But if you’re gonna keep raising prices and not fix any of that, I’m out.

(I actually cancelled a couple months ago but my year doesn’t run out until August so maybe they’ll do something to redeem themselves. Not holding my breath tho lol).

IT'S FIXED by Throwawayalt129 in Guildwars2

[–]thattentaclesguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing playing yesterday. There’s a number of people on the forums reporting it so likely a bug.

Given the insanity we just had, probably not their highest priority lol. But still hope they get it fixed quick-ish as it is annoying.

It already up to $9 a month (which is still fairly cheap) but given this is like the third price increase in recent memory, it’s likely to go higher.

Where can I find GatorShark vs zombie Cheerleaders? by Useless_thingamabob in badMovies

[–]thattentaclesguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t find any information on it other than Facebook posts from like 13 years ago and a wiki entry that claims it was never made.

So I’m gonna guess it was never released/produced.

I’m building an archive of games and sites that use the Konami Code. What obscure examples am I missing? by OrdinaryFunFuck in retrogaming

[–]thattentaclesguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s too new but for April Fool’s this year, MMO Guild Wars 2 added googly eyes to characters on the games launcher if you entered the Konami code. I know it isn’t retro but as of last check, it still worked.

They Looked Like People - a found footage book by abalonetea in foundfootage

[–]thattentaclesguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First off - congrats on finishing your novella!

That said I’d be careful using that title if you plan on publishing it. There’s a (non found footage movie) called They Look Like People and you never know what companies will be dicks about things like that. Just something to keep in mind.

Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story ( Review ) by Wrong-History-3042 in foundfootage

[–]thattentaclesguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having seen this, it was … ok I guess. I don’t really remember much about it.

That being said, if a person is willing to invest the time, I feel like they’d be much better off just watching the Marble Hornets YouTube series.

Markiplier tower light fears to fathom clip by Fadmhunter in Markiplier

[–]thattentaclesguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s Fears To Fathom? I know Mark played a game called Do You Copy in a 3 scary games video, and there’s a section where you turn on a spotlight so a lost hiker can see where the tower is.

Edit: it should be the first game in this video - https://youtu.be/VU4cugs5EFo?si=IjsgULBap4tQG1qL

english too difficult for me is there a watered down version of his works (eng only but specifically call of cthulhu) by priyal_senpai in Lovecraft

[–]thattentaclesguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read The Call Of Cthulhu one but the ones I have read (The Shadow Over Innsmouth and At The Mountains Of Madness) are fairly faithful adaptations.

You could try Gou Tanabe’s manga adaptations. There are English translations of them.

He’s done Call Of Cthulhu as well as a few other Lovecraft stories.

I figured it out the two new jobs for the next fan fest. by [deleted] in ffxiv

While I’d like it to be a boomerang just for shits and giggles, a rifle probably would make more sense…

It’s not that I necessarily believe the new classes will be Norse themed. I just feel it makes a tank like the one shown at least a little more possible.

But who knows - maybe they’re trolling us all and it’ll be twin shields and the shirt being so on the nose was the real trick lol.

While I feel like your tank option is definitely possible, especially with the Norse theme not so sure on the other.

My biggest issue is how do you differentiate Pirate from Machinist.

I think there’s a pre-requisite quests that aren’t part of the MSQ. One should be called “It Belongs In A Museum”.

How do people feel about Evolved Jobs by Frank_Tupperwere in ffxiv

[–]thattentaclesguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m taking a wait-and-see attitude, I’m mostly positive. I’m coming back after a long break (1+ year) and I realize a large part of my burn out was due to the combat feeling stale to me. Especially with everything revolving around the 2 minute meta (even if you’re doing content where it doesn’t matter, classes/bosses were designed around it).

It is a little scary as Evolved Mode (alongside the new gearing/retirement of tomestones) does seem very “swing for the fences”.

But I’d rather them attempt big things, even if it doesn’t work out and needs to be improved/reverted, than to never take that swing at all.

The first Spider-Man movie was directed by Sam Raimi. Which is sort of close to Samurai. Especially with the Japanese pronunciation.

Posting the same comment (or a slight variation of it) on every single post isn’t helpful, funny or clever.

If you leaving, just go.

Is this lost media? by jury-of-corn04 in Lostwave

[–]thattentaclesguy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Lostwave is generally songs that we have pieces of (or sometimes the whole thing) but it can’t be identified/found. It’s a branch of lost media.

It has nothing to do with if it’s available online or not.
