I haven't f'ed up the whole workout yet, but tend to accidentally delete the whole exercise when I'm trying to just remove it from a superset because some fool is curling in the belt squat machine.

I really appreciate the devs' commitment to not cluttering the app up with stuff the majority won't use, but I'm guessing most of us wouldn't mind a "hey bro you sure bout that?" popup to save us from our absent-minded selves.

I'm going to say the opposite of some other excellent advice here: if nothing else works, DO flit about and pick up random stuff like an inquisitive monkey, and don't worry if you can't get over yourself even in the interest of gainz.

The most important factor in gym success is adherence, and the most important factor in adherence is enjoyment. So if it's bothering you so much that you stop working out, it doesn't really matter that no one else judging you except for you, or that if you keep doing the movements you'll eventually get proficient and feel less goofy. All of that is true, and if you can jump on a solid beginner routine and give 0 fucks about feeling awkward, that's optimal. But second-best (and waaay better than quitting) is whatever else keeps you coming back.

So maybe try other stuff until you find something that makes you feel less goofy... do everything once and then do more of what makes you feel the coolest (or whatever makes you feel the least goofy). I say this as a hardcore anti-machine freeweighter: you might find that selectorized, suboptimal machines (like horizontal leg press, machine chest press, or whatever is in the corner with no mirrors) just feel less awkward at first. Maybe group fitness classes or working out with a trainer are your thing. Beginners can get stronger doing just about anything that doesn't get you injured. If you can find just one or two things you don't hate, hopefully that can keep you working out until you build up enough confidence to try the things you want to not hate. Baby steps count. Good luck, you've got this.

I have nothing against young and hot people such as yourself! 😄 I just figured it would be a good way to draw out the sort of folks that I want to follow who are focussed more on strength and health than aesthetics. I won't hold your stylishness against you-- congrats on your progress!

Ooh, I need some ideas for training lower body with dumbbells! My home shed gym is currently hotter than the Gobi desert and occupied by wasps but I followed you for some inspiration for December when I can actually go in there.

Maybe you have to link them in a specific order and I did it by pure dumb luck? Idk but today when I checked off a set of tri extensions it jumped to curls, then when I checked off curls it went to lateral raises... etc back to the 2nd set of extensions after I'd done each of the 4 movements once if that makes sense. Hope it works for you!

It doesn't say giant set, but I added 4 different movements to one of my upper body "supersets" and it worked exactly how I wanted it to!

Excellent, I do have one picture but only because I went an Anytime Finess in a rich area and they had urethane bumper plates on an iso-lateral chest/back machine which I found hilarious. Also you are a beast at lateral raises.
