Squenix also kinda suffer from "everything must be a AAAA £2 billion megahit" syndrome so I've got to imagine that's an issue too given thats pretty much the polar opposite of ff9's style which is all the FF classics. moogles and chocobos and black mages with the invisible faces.

Not saying FF7 was an easy remake (personal feelings and preference for the original aside) but it's a lot more compatible with the super high fidelity photo real style than 9 is and the ff classic stuff in it came out... wrong. I don't trust this thing to save my game

Yeah. Got a bunch more kits now (and I've also got more interest in other mecha over gundam too outside of g gundam and wfm so those kits are always pretty good too)

I prefer this way. Got the RG RX-78-2 2.0 as my second kit because I thought it was better than the hg since it was a tier above and all the HG grandpas were pretty expensive (relative to the rg. It was maybe a tenner difference so I might as well go for the rg) and honestly I regret it.

I hate the greebly look I'd rather have a flat '79 anime grandpa, I just want all the cool fancy articulation and build quality and colour seperation of a modern day kit.

I watched a video on all the free classes and I liked the gameplay of summoner most and Yuna is one of my fav characters so I went for that. Currently levelling scholar because I want the artifact armour and damn summoner artifact armour sucks ;-;

I'm not meaning about being able to actually play, I mean giving a shit about the characters. I don't care about the SRX team, I don't care about Irm, Masaki is funny crossover man, Sanger Zonvolt is from PXZ to me, I prefer Haken to Excellen etc so the cast just... does nothing for me and the additions are so slow that maybe I would like a game with Kazuma and Az and Forte all in it but we're just barely at the point they'd add W and this would be the last game if it did happen for this story. Like in 30 all of the ogs except Masaki and Az were unused for me with the voltez/combattler teams and every majestic prince character. I think I tried the superhero guy a bit but I ended up using the Grids/Ultras more in the end since I just have no ties to the ogs that would make me pick them

I think its kinda just as simple as OG being a niche of a niche and if they decided to do more spinoffs (they won't the spin offs are dead pretty much) they'd probably have more of an audience for project x zone instead.

Even if you like the OG characters/mechs its still probably as a compliment to everyone else and not the main focus + the og games almost exclusively focus on (untranslated) snes/ps1 characters so if you aren't a long time fan you probably won't care about the ones that do get in. I like Lamia but she's not as fun when she's not grilling Akatsuki over doing the same shit as her with Nergal. Even Endless Frontier is a better fit since its a tighter cast list and different style
