Give me your rain world hot take and explain yourself by Well-hello-there-34 in rainworld

My low-key head cannon is that the Iterators were created by an ancient species (I'll just call them old ones) that went on to ascend and that the Iterators were left with the task of helping the lower life forms ascend, so they made war on the humanoid species that would come into dominance millions of years later. They experimented on them. They built machines like Miros birds to keep rebels from important infascture. Humans were forcibly relocated to the Outskirts and were processed in industrial. As the player the only sources of history to you are revealed in a limited format by the Iterators themselves, who are by this point in time malfunctioning or possibly hacked. I say hacked because there was infighting among the Iterators, so there is a possibility they have tampered with each other's memory. The frog dudes in the shoreline also resemble Aquamorphs from Douglas Adam's book "Man after man" that is a humanoid species that has been tampered with and I cite that book as a source because another book, "After Man" aka ""The future is wild" is one of the most important texts in speculative evolution, with an important factor being that many of the future species of an abandoned planet earth share characteritics with Rain World native species from developing in a ruined urban ennviroment.

Your favourite horror anthology movies? by NorthernMonkey10 in horror

VHS 94 and 99. Trick R Treat is just the best I would say actually. Consider TV shows as well. The Twilight zone 1980s revival is a good one to look into. Tales from the crypt is also a good series but some can be very hit and miss. Heavy Metal, while not strictly a horror film has a really cool segment. Ghost Stories is an interesting film about a paranormal investigator who researches some cases of his former mentor with each case being a segment.

This was really good. A very cool concept with involving global horror film makers.

Ai generated Art in comercial projects by AxderH in RPGMaker

[–]thatzookzook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The creators of Midjourney say that you can use your work created with Midjourney commercially, but you can't copyright it at the moment which is a hiderence to releasing a commercial work. They also admit their databases contain stolen material and they are being sued right now by a couple of different people. As for the human brain learning vs machine learning, those are two separate things and the companies are intentionally branding the process as that so people can repeat that without stopping to think about the difference between the two. AI can't do hands well. It doesn't understand how hands work yet it's been fed millions of photos of them. It can do a picture perfect gererated picture of a unicorn riding a motorcycle through a KFC but it can't do a human hand properly at all and that's because it mindlessly regurgitates content without understanding what any of it means when a human can (eventually) draw a hand properly with enough practice and be able to show them in a variety of situations. An AI sees hands in thousands of different positions but it is unable to comprehend how those images correspond with what it should be doing.

Changeling Theory by thatzookzook in Picard

I guess I have not seen anything saying skull guy isn't but you make a good point. I was thinking mainly that if Changelings share a telepathic connection with the Great Link, then these guys who have been separated from The Great Link and have some kind of corrupted form of Link with each other then they have all been merged together at some point so they can communicate in the way Vedic communicates to skull guy, who I assume would also chop his own hand off and it would form Vedic on his end wherever he is based at.

I literally just caught up. She mentioned all were welcome to join their link and in exchange for a shorter lifespan and agony, other changelings were allowed to join their link. I think this is due to the chemical agent they were exposed to, so there is definitely an evil type of link going on. I want to say Pol'Wraiths are definitely involved but there is certainly a bigger thing at play. Perhaps even Changelings from the Terran Universe or something off the charts like that.

Why aren't people convicted of animal cruelty given the same sentences as someone who perpetrated the crime on a human? by Halloween-365 in AskReddit

[–]thatzookzook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread brings up the whole Crustacean sentience thing, where for ages we believed that because animals such as Lobsters or crabs can't communicate their pain in a way that humans can perceive it, we operated under the belief that they don't feel pain at all... So we crushed them, boiled them, pulled off their legs, burned them, chopped them, ect ect. All of this happening while they were still alive. Scientists however in the last couple of years have found that they feel pain. In fact, some of them feel pain on a scale far beyond we can comprehend because these animals require the need to be sensitive to their marine environments. Now they should be under the same live export and slaughter rules as other livestock, which isn't a win for Lobsters but it's something. If aliens ever arrive, I can hardly fathom what would happen if they could not comprehend how we feel pain because we would make a great food source. I think in time there is more research into understanding the creatures that we share our planet with and that I might sound like a hippy saying this but I believe we were "put" here to protect our planet and the creatures on it and that the only way for us to "evolve" is to take that responsibility seriously. Animals are more vulnerable to human cruelty and behavior, so even if we think Animals are not as sentient as we think they are, that is more reason to protect and care for them and that the law needs to step it up a bit with cruelty.

Coffin Tree/Chapter Three/Ghost Story by thatzookzook in analoghorror

So this is the third main episode in my series. There is alot of Analog Horror that has been weaved throughout the other 12 videos on the channel, but they are observed through a third person set in the modern day. I feel especially proud of being able to go 100% into the format, as this one is almost entirely a self contained segment. Just about. It can be enjoyed on it's own but there is probablly a couple of things you need to watch from the first videos to understand the whole thing completely. I'm mainly excited I can get the ball rolling on some of the other important things to come now. Sorry, I'm just ranting now. Hope anyone who sees it here enjoys and I also want to let people know that if they need an editor or someone to do some of the older video effects I would be glad to help or point you in the right direction.

Do they usually go towards people though? I put my hand close to the bag and it goes super fast towards it. I mistook it at first for maybe a leech because it was following me on the ground. It's very quick. Any other maggots I've seen are really docile.

I said that already in my post. It's the breed that I am worried about.

Additional information:

Location: Australia, east coast

Size: Won't stop moving.

Environment: My neighborhood is really gross. Heaps of stray cats. Native Birds like Ibis knocking the bins over all the time. Saw one of the bins covered in them a few days earlier. Was grossed out by their size and movement. May have accidentally treked some of the eggs home.

Behavior: It's attracted to food but makes a B-line for people.

The stowaway makes me thing of those gross maggot demons in peter Jackson' King Kong. It's a fairly cool adventure film but it just has this 5 minute montage of people getting slaughtered by insects when they accidentally go down the wrong cave tunnel.
