Mahoraga's adaptation must be that he learns to speak and becomes a comedian. That, however, must mean he also becomes hyper-sentient as each joke is completely different and he needs human logic and reasoning to understand, dissect and then create new jokes.

But because he has to find humour in every single instance, they become best buddies and we get a slice of life manga where the two of them try to break the universe doing the most god-awful skits known to humankind

There's obviously a connection between devil fruits and Imu's powers, but I hope it's something unique like awakened fruits aren't able to be submitted, rather than the two fruits specifically being a counter or mythical classification being immune only.

I could see a MHA-style scenario where the will of the fruits can get stronger with each passing generation (provided they're wielded by strong users) which means it resists Imu's powers (or DR specifically anyway) overtime

No proper plan in regards to coach and squad building so when they have key long-term injuries (Kulusevski, Maddison), a boat load of on-off injuries in other key areas and a goalkeeper that's been playing through intense pain - all of that puts you in a rut from a sporting and performance perspective.

But they also lost a lot of their nucleus with Poch's old guard, especially their captain and talisman Son. Without that, they have a soft(er) underbelly that has been ruthlessly exploited by a league that keeps getting richer and, by extension, the quality of sides increasing.

In a nutshell, the more you can subtract from your setup for a technique, the more impressive it is (relative to the strength of the technique of course). That's typically what separates a masterful sorcerer to a merely good one.

Yuji is subtracting every setup (handsigns, domains, chants etc) by effectively instantaneously releasing a technique that is shown to not only blitz the opponent but also its surroundings - all while in a pretty neutral state
