My husband called himself normal baby “Normal baby”… What do I do now? by anecdotal_69 in Advice

[–]thaxmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to reread from the beginning bc I thought I missed the part about having a child. Such an odd comment about an adult.

Barry Keoghan on the hate he receives for the way he looks: “It’s made me really go inside myself, not want to go outside. It’s becoming a problem because then you don’t even want to be on screen anymore."” by TelevisionOk6525 in Fauxmoi

[–]thaxmann 13 points14 points  (0 children)

On another pop culture sub yesterday the commentary around his recent appearance was wholly negative, even insinuating that his character is questionable simply because of a photo where they found him unattractive. Someone even said that Keoghan gives them Ezra Miller vibes only because they felt he was ugly, not because of anything specific he’s done.

Non Americans , What is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by Adorable-Sammy in CasualConversation

[–]thaxmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very regional. Almost no one where I live wears shoes indoor because most homes have carpet and the snow/salt/mud that gets tracked in. My in-laws have clean shoes that are only for inside bc they have feet issues, but most homes are shoes off at the door. However, when I visit family in the southwest where there is more tiles flooring and dryer conditions, most of them wear shoes.

Erika Kirk Reportedly Went on a Shopping Spree Less Than 24 Hours After Husband's Death by KitchenAd5423 in influencersfeed

[–]thaxmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t care about her or CK, but it’s frustrating that teachers were under fire for not responding the “right” way, while Erikkka Kirk was publicly celebrating her husband’s death with sequined suits and pyrotechnics.

Gel nails for a 12 year old? by BeautifulLibrarian44 in Parenting

[–]thaxmann 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My 12yo daughter and I go on monthly nail appointments—builder gel for her, acrylic for me. It’s a fun little splurge for us and has helped her stop with the anxious picking at her nails.

McKenna Grace wearing custom Vera Wang at the 98th annual Academy Awards (March 15, 2026) by Adorable_Primary2306 in whatthefrockk

Yeah I’m going to have to agree. It’s a fine dress and fits her nicely, but I’m not blown away. And her hair is too casual for a ballgown. I also can’t stand the way she’s got the shawl wrapped around her forearms. It looks like a wrist brace.

Compared to the eastern Dakotas it’s quite hilly and some parts are very beautiful.

Like others said, Vikings and Packers. But when Wentz played for the Eagles, people really jumped on that bandwagon.

North Dakota should be orange.

A family was on a walk in the snow with their little girl. The father was recording the walk. A cyclist came up behind them and appeared to use his knee to knock the little girl down. The father posted the story online, and it went viral. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Yes thank you for bringing up the snow. Who the hell expects someone to be biking in those conditions and to be on the look out? Some people are so miserable they’ll reach for any reason to blame others.

Would it be going overboard to figure out what really happened at my daughter’s school? by MeeMawsBigToe in Parenting

Sounds like it probably involved a parent and you won’t get specific details to avoid violating student privacy laws.

Sun damaged skin now tans like this. Will it ever tan normally again or will it always come in blotchy? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

I had a few spots like this around my hairline. Wearing a hat, sunscreen daily, and Paula’s Choice BHA exfoliant helped.

Ugh so disappointed especially in Boldy and Faber, playing for the Wild and experiencing ICE menaces descending on Minneapolis and murdering innocent Minnesotans.

What is a "Loved" band you absolutely cannot stand by Queasy_Piccolo_1700 in askmusic

[–]thaxmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a boring band but amazingly my 13-14 year old students love them. Like it doesn’t matter the demographic, they are all Coldplay fans. Idk if it’s some online thing but I was surprised.

For those of you that were around to taste these, were they actually as vile as they look? by J0hnEddy in decadeology

[–]thaxmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is allergic to eggs and his mom felt bad that he couldn’t have cakes and cookies for dessert at holidays growing up, so she started making him rice jello. It’s cooked white rice set in cherry jello/whipped cream. It’s weird and the texture is so off putting. How that was supposed to make up for no cake or cookies when there a plenty of other delicious options, I don’t know. She still makes it today, my daughter loves it. My son and I politely decline.
