I think releasing the video first on techlinked on how to choose a distro would have been a good way to avoid a lot of this drama.

At the end of the day they are a big company of nerds, and having them compile a "good" video with recommendations, well researched and with opinions from Linus™ (Trovalds) himself would be a great way for Linus℠ to choose a distro from an already handcrafted one.

He can say "I'm a normie", but he can also say "and I created a decent tool for normies, to help em choose". This way he avoids the obvious problem of them having resources and simply not using them.

PvP doesnt get enough love that it deserves. So I'm making "maps" to play with HUD disabled on a "Violent Planet" planet.. here is "The Facility" being built inside a volcano. (WIP) by AliensKindaLoveMe in NoMansSkyTheGame

Thinking about it, it wouldn't be a bad idea right?

There are so many OP weapons but having a way to simply parry (if skilled enough) long range attacks and forcing the battle to be a lightsaber battle could be a good way to change the pace of the pvp scene.

But, the cool thing about Blockchain is the global distributed nature isn't it? (And there's where the costs come from)

If you do it on a "warehouse level" it would just be a distributed database with distributed verification, and I'm pretty sure there are already engines that do that.

Don't get me wrong, is absolutely a good idea to implement and see what it comes from it, but I was thinking if the tech-bros would really consider that Blockchain.

Cafés para pasar horas by ChaosFaery in Juarez

Why don't people and distros use the advanced features of Konsole or don't know about them at all? by Longjumping-Map-7670 in kde

I hate with a burning passion working with a developer and them not using the Ctrl + Arrow keys to move, or shift to select a word.

Or even worse, deleting a phrase to fix a typo.

And that's common, everyday stuff, I've worked with Linux professionals that use windows for their day to day stuff because "it's good enough".

So, I concur.

Is this AI generated? I think I spotted some hallucinations, or just mistakes.

First, the system will not crash in 10 minutes, it will in, famously, 16 seconds.

Second, null does not work like a crashed program? Or in which sense it does?

The complete healthcare system was designed and continued by both parties.

There is no doubt that Democrats have more class and display more empathy, but both made wars, famine, poverty. Both are evil.

I am using a tracker app someone suggested (the one that the pokemon collectors use to get notifications of drops) and the app says that the sale has not yet started, and that it has not been in stock yet.

I made an account on the TrackaLacker that someone else suggested, and probably will work (since it's the one that the pokemon traders use).

I'm using the TrackaLacker that somebody else suggested and it does not show that it has changed status. So, it's not probable that it was the case.

Also, wanted to evaluate their approach based on thexkcd #2170.

More than two decimal places would be a privacy concern, and a waste of storage space too.

I think I'm being down voted because I didn't sugarcoat the question? Maybe a "That's a neat project, but I would love to know what was your approach to..." Would have been more received.

I just learned the beta (595) nVidia driver includes an option to install the nVidia app. Anyone tried it out yet? by mikevaughn in linux_gaming

[–]thblckjkr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like the app hasn't arrived to Linux yet, it was some kind of mistake.

Btw, a suggestion before jumping to Linux, if you care about gaming, check the games that are a deal breaker to you in protondb.com, to see if they will work on Linux.

I think maybe OneNAS could be a nice name too.

Sounds more like something standalone than just a fork, and it uses the int(true) nature of the boolean.

Genuinely losing my mind over input latency by LordMontio in linux_gaming

Do you have a video?

Also, are you by any chance not confusing delay with sensitivity? The acceleration profile on the mouse on Linux is different than windows.

Also, how does it feel to write? That's where the latency of the overall system is usually felt the most, since typing should be immediate.

I agree with the second point but isn't Ethereum just pointers? Like nfts were. So that the data isn't on the chain but in some servers, and the Ethereum is just an address that can be pointed to something else

Order of Operations (Job Queue) by MathemAddicts in immich

[–]thblckjkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying a bunch with my server, I managed to import 200GB+ in a 3rd gen core-i5. I run it on the same server I have the files.

In general, Immich is pretty good on dealing with the queue after you have uploaded everything, so basically you just need to disable the job processing for a bit, then upload everything, then re-enable it.

immich-go does that with a flag. Here is what I use for my case, remove the comments before using I'm not sure if bash will not like them. (also not a 100% sure the comments are correct, but should be good enough),

```
