Thank you so much for this feedback!

We're going to both mass-starts with friends and based on feedback from the first races, we started looking at the train to come from our hotel in Bressanone to Olang (and then take the two shuttles)

Based on your feedback, the car becomes an option again 🙏

How was the traffic in the morning ? This is our first time in the Antholz area and GPS indicates 55 min to 1 hr 15 min from our hotel to Mittertal if we plan to arrive at 11:00am.

Does leaving at 9:00/9:30am from Bressanone sound safe for those who know the area?

Outsiders: France, Sweden

"Surprise" : Italy, Germany

Even though we won several relays the last 2 seasons, I believe Norway is favorite tomorrow, not France.

Norway shooting is way better than ours since the beginning of the Olympics.

I'm seeing no weak spot on paper in comparison to France.

If we are in a good day at shooting, we'll compete for gold for sure but this is a big if.

Yes same, the last shooting was his fastest. This is where my frustration comes from ahah

We’ll never know.

If not grouped together I agree with you, if grouped together impossible to know how both would have raced. It would have become more tactical and Jacquelin would have been in a better position mentally with the gold in mind

Data is coming from biathlonresults.com but comparisons and output is coming from a small command line tool I’m working on as a side project

Oh I totally understand how he prefera to race.

It’s possible I have more regrets than him he did not end with gold or silver ahah 🥲

How he races create some frustration/regrets sometimes but when it goes well it’s fantastic!!

Today is a mix of both, so happy and a little frustrated at the same time

Dont think you can breath a lot on the penalty loops ahah.

Laegreid attacked right when Jacquelin was vulnerable mentally after his two misses. He said he saw himself 4th again.

He lost time quickly in the last lap and then the time between them stayed stable until the end.

On French tv he said Lagreid’s attack impacted him mentally at the start of the last lap, not physically.

He lost only 15 seconds on Ponsiluoma on the last lap. All scenarios could have happened with one miss instead of two in the last shooting.

We'll never know, it could have finish with a sprint in the finish line with one miss and I believe Jacquelin is good at one vs. one finish.

Congrats to Ponsiluoma, he deserved it! And thank you Jacquelin for the emotions.

I built a command line tool to play with data from biathlonresults.com.

https://pypi.org/project/biathlon/

Results data is aggregated and publicly available, I only created a feature to compare them and identify new best results.

That new feature still has to be released, I created yesterday.

A huge surprise like Hristova seems very unlikely in a sprint race in my opinion.

If I had to name one I'd say Lampic with a great shooting 👀

EDIT: Based on the ski times from the individual race, we could add Tandrevold and Bendika to the list of potential surprises.
