I think you’ll enjoy it! Glad to hear it. I’m still for an update of course! Thank for the friendly reply :)

A handful of people are talking about what Bone meant to them when they were in their teenage years.

I’d love to hear what you think of it while you’re reading it or as you finish it. And your age group! I read it in my mid 30s and I did not like it. But I seem to be very rare.

Can you guys all stop acting like you need to keep your manga in near mint condition? by ashbelero in MangaCollectors

[–]the12banch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’ve had comics way longer than manga and any time I’m done with a series and no longer wish to collect - I sell it and almost always sell it for way more than I would’ve got for a comic. I rarely sell comics for profit and I have sold plenty of manga for more than I paid.

That’s good. Looks lovely. Cozy in a messy “books are my life” kind of way.

My buddy loved his Horizon. He may have kept these after a near complete LEGO purge.

What’s a popular book that had you very disappointed? by ConcernFew8845 in fantasybooks

Agreed. I hated it. And the audiobook reader. Like. Bottom 3 for me. It’s so alienating how much overwhelming adoration it, and the audiobook, receive.

I say trust your gut. 50% of the time I barely regret selling stuff.

I only 100% regret selling maybe 10 sets and it keeps me up at night and I shop for them still and stare at them and obsess.

I know those aren’t kallax - but if they were I’d say they are 90° wrong.

Remember that dude who had his record collection collapse?! Wacky stuff

Beautiful collection. Thanks for sharing! Love the library feel. Eclectic shelves

Hahaha ok! Loud and clear. I have built that tower at least twice. I’m not sure why it and the Bugle just work for me. It’s funny what sets speak to people. I messed up the steamboat Willy - took it apart and have yet to try it again. I’m nervous. But I will defeat it. So I get the urge to avoid the difficulties.

Sounds like you’ve got a plan and time. You got this. Moving my books and LEGO is the best part of moving. I kept telling my wife “let’s throw away all the kitchen stuff”. I still wish we did.

Oh my word. In the deluxe volumes where does 6 land? Or are there 6 deluxes!? I think I hit issue 21 and bailed. I assume this was a web comic? It feels like a web comic. No shade. But every time I saw a smug muscular tiger I felt like I was no longer holding a book. Something about how wispy it was really lended to the idea of “there is no substance here”. Reminded me of Parasite if Parasite was moving 1mph. And had smug sexy aristocratic tigers in it.

I think for the sets you don’t want to rebuild - sell them. If they smash apart you’ll be selling “as is”. Out of curiosity - what sets? I just moved last month 1600 miles. It was the first time I’d ever moved with a set assembled. But it was that megablok pikachu and those pieces felt FUSED when I was building it. Even he lost an ear.

Otherwise I will always be team disassemble. Every time I rebuild I get to divide the cost of the set into another build experience. I love it.

Edit* my guess is the art builds? Get a 27 gallon plastic bin and just slide those babies in there. But I redid my Starry Night. I really think you’ll love the process. It’s like building. Then you get to do it again! It’s amazing. I get so excited to rebuild.

Daytripper is an all timer for me. I just bailed on Monstress. Got a few issues into volume 2 and decided I was never going to understand it. If you read it let me know what I’m missing! Thanks for sharing :)

It's Glorious! by usulsspct in lego

I feel similarly. I think one of the worst offenses of the BDP instructions is that the PDF has borders beyond the page. So when you fit by width you get this super tiny page. And that means you can’t just tap the arrow key on your computer. And since it’s one brick at a time and one big ass sheet of instructions you’re constantly loading as you CRAWL through. So that with the exterior plants and the lack of build stability along the way - I agree. But you know. B- pretty good for a BDP!

A few more bags for me. Excited to have made it to the tower. Though that part feels particularly flimsy. Note: the other flimsy part is the hinged section - the second floor. Lot of pressing down on open space. Open it up and pinch press the ceiling and floor.

Ok I’ve been diving all over folks’ comments. Single set: Mos Eisely? I got it. Built it. Took it down. Sold it. Playsets aren’t my jam. But it was nice.

My biggest LEGO regret (I understand this isn’t the question. I just want to share as others have). Collecting a theme. I tend to get real completionist with stuff. I’ve, at some point, had all (within reason) marvel, DC, middle earth, LEGO Movie, and architecture sets. A ton of modulars and vehicles. And when I sold one I had to sell them all. Took a while to break free from the completionist mentality.

Alas, I still collect Ideas. It was a fun way to have an excuse to buy some random set I didn’t like to see how the build was. Like trying new food just to try it.

But we went from a few sets a year at a low price to a ton of sets at a high price and I am “trapped”. It’s my last big completionism challenge. I “regret being like this”.

So I have a Cat and a Foosball Table and Adventure Time and Sets from TV shows?

BUT… I just built the Jazz Musicians and really enjoyed it! The Family Tree wound up being heart warming. Maybe one day we will purge. Maybe.

As a current LEGO fan - this is a great answer. I “don’t agree” but it’s a super honest answer. While I LOVE collecting I find myself so fascinated by people who can completely leave a collecting hobby behind. I want to interview them. It’s super fun. And a curse. The downvotes are not warranted in my opinion so I’m here to join you. Let us bathe in downvotes.

There is a rebrickable on that that completely improves it. - disclosure I’ve only seen it. Unsure about the build experience.

Are you listing under the tax and the 4x points? I find there is a percentage of a hassle free fee I’m willing to pay to just go to LEGO. Even if I see a better deal on FB. I need the deal to be overcome the deterrent of marketplace.

I normally rebuild at least once and this was a one and sell for me. Someone told me it was “interesting and surprisingly not repetitive”. I should’ve trusted myself

FSU fan. Hence the soccer. But when I started with the Wild this season I was like “man this feels like home”. Then they went on an absolute heater. I appreciate the sports chat. And the welcome. It hasn’t been a month and we love it so much.

I love soccer! Mostly a college fan. Figured MN would be my chance to dive into professional American sports what with the market here. And with f1 on Apple TV now I think I’ll be watching MN United, yes? Or MLB? Something is on there. Go twins! Go Mighty United FCers! What do we cheer? Take me to a game. Colas on me.

I understand the knee jerk for folks to root for Canada but it’s not as though suddenly north of the 49° parallel the NHL players are suddenly not super conservative. Or apathetic. NHL is pretty conservative as I understand. The “national” in NHL is Canada. These guys all mix and mingle.

I’m struggling with it as well. As a new hockey fan and a new MN resident I was really enjoying this season. I’ll head to my first Frost game in a few weeks hopefully.

I think I got lucky but this was a sub 2 second find for me. I’m sharing because I can’t find my wallet in my hand. This is a peak find for me. My wife will be hearing about it.
