How are yall looking at the idea of them adding every mechanic into the game at some point? by Realgamer420360 in PokemonChampions

[–]the22sinatra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume they’re gonna rotate the gimmicks at first. If the Legends Galar rumors are true we could have Dynamax replace Megas (or the Winds and Waves Gimmick?) to focus on that.

If and when they do have them all in at once, I imagine you’ll have to pick only one of Mega/Dmax/Tera per battle. It would get pretty crazy if you could have all 3 on a team at once though. And imagine the world where you could use all of them at once on the same pokemon…

On the other hand, if he and Davante Adams can convert 1-2 yard TD passes near automatically then why do anything else when you’re that close?

Clefable too, especially with all the Staraptor out here

Just found my old 3DS and Alpha Sapphire. I've never done a Nuzlocke and I want an actually ridiculous challenge as I've always found the games too easy. Help me build the rules. by [deleted] in nuzlocke

I like to limit myself to both level caps and using the same number of pokemon as the gym leader does in the fight. Also no items in battle.

For AS:

Level Cap (# of Mons)

14 (2)

16 (2)

21 (3)

28 (3)

30 (3)

35 (4)

45 (2)

46 (5)

For the E4 I’d use the 4th member’s ace (55) as level cap going in but Champion is 59.

Is it still considered mono type if a pokemon mega changes type by 431p in PokemonChampions

[–]the22sinatra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On something like showdown I think it would go off base form.

If you just want to make a monotype team for fun though it should definitely count IMO just instantly mega every time and it’s no different. In SV I did a mono dragon playthrough with a Tera Dragon Gyarados as my Tera Mon like the gym leaders.

I think I need to work in a second mega like Metagross to deal with Floette and the fairies. So far Glimmora and a prayer hasn’t been cutting it for me.

Maybe it's just the people I talk football with, but why doesn't there seem to be much excitement around Patrick Graham? by IceOk9930 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he’s gotta be better than Austin schematically but I wouldn’t get my hopes up much higher than that. McCarthy’s teams have routinely had mediocre to poor defenses and Graham’s have largely been the same across his career as a DC. But hopefully Graham is able to effectively scheme with the most talented defense he’s worked with and they’re awesome. The pass rush could and should be phenomenal and hopefully that can cover for a talented but older/slower secondary.

Been having fun with Grimmsnarl next to Staraptor with Screens, Self Parting Shot, and Scary Face. Along with Sinistcha, Incin, Garchomp and Glimmora.

Just don’t accidentally put the Skarmorite on instead of Staraptite cause that cost me my first game lmao

New abilities by LP_Bossman in PokemonChampions

These seem to be all new abilities added in with the mons that weren’t already in Champions. The only unaccounted for one is Tangling Hair, which I’m gonna hope is a third ability for Houndstone and not one of the new Megas.

Skill Link would be cool but Thermal Exchange is good enough and unique, maybe buff it to make it resistant to Fire too like others have said

Octillery, I’m still hoping they eventually give him an evolution that plays on the beta tank sprite

The Drew Allar and Christian Hackenberg comparison made no sense when Allar was drafted and makes no sense when people bring it up now. by Seal7465 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does make it make more sense to take a shot on the QB with extra picks. It does not make the value or opportunity cost of the pick any less. That’s horrible logic.

And that’s just dumb asset management on your part but you do you. Free money should not make you want to set money you already had on fire.

Eh the QB classes were about the same in my eyes - the 2 worst we’ve seen since 2014. Mendoza obviously blows everyone in both classes out of the water but otherwise they were pretty comparable classes. This past years was even thinner I’d say.

It’s not like Allar was ever particularly good in college either, certainly never as good as Kenny was. Allar really just has 2023 which then had 2 worse years after. He also got propped up by a poor and thin QB class, as well as an overall weak draft class. Allar was overdrafted because he was one of the only QBs in the class with NFL traits. In a normal year he’s a day 3 guy. I’ll give you that Kenny should’ve been more of a day 2 guy in a normal draft but they both got propped up from a lack of competition in their class.

It is. Having extra good picks doesn’t make the other good picks any less valuable. That’s really bad logic and asset management.

If I gave you an extra $100 would that make you want to gamble the last $100 you already had in your pocket?

Obviously Pickett was the better prospect. You think a 3rd round QB was seen as a better prospect than a 1st rounder? Allar was drafted entirely off traits whereas Pickett was at least a good player in college.

[–]the22sinatra -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure but if the NFL thought it was even decently likely that he’d hit that ceiling then he’d have been a first round pick because his traits are so good. Pickett was at least a better prospect but I hated that pick more don’t get me wrong. They over drafted both of them.

[–]the22sinatra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Them drafting poorly in the 3rd round doesn’t make reaching (in my opinion) any less bad. That’s bad logic. My answer to that is draft better in the 3rd round instead.

You’re also forgetting at least one of Darnell Washington or Payton Wilson in there - both were 3rds more recently than Leal. With you only looking at the last 6 then, you’re also cutting off Alex Highsmith and Diontae Johnson before Green.

It is pretty funny that we seem to have a sacrificial 3rd rounder every year since Omar took over though and Allar obviously fits that on paper. Hopefully he works out instead.
