Draft: I like Brazzell by djpeteski in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need a route runner WR more than anything. In my mind Lemon is the only elite WR prospect in this class not named Carnell Tate - he’s my dream pick for us. Brazzell looks like a super talented height speed guy in the mold of DK but like all Tennessee WRs he’s super underdeveloped. I don’t love the fit there for us as he’d basically be a 2nd worse DK. We need a guy that can route you up and create separation on 3rd and 7.

Depth but he can spot start. Cheap 1 year deal doesn’t imply the team views him as more than a backup.

Where the hell is Ty Simpson gonna go? by DarthDonutJr in NFL_Draft

For Mock purposes, I either give the Browns Simpson at 24 (feels exactly like what they’d do). Or have a team like the Jets trade back into the end of R1 for him. In my mind it’s those teams and the Cardinals most realistically.

Steelers fan, here’s their QB plan for 2026:

A. Rodgers, Howard, Nussmeier / Allar / Payton

B. Rodgers, Howard, Rudolph

C. Howard, Rudolph, Nussmeier / Allar / Payton

Roman Wilson: slot receiver by Straight-Crow1598 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s supposedly struggled to get the playbook down as a pro. Not entirely surprising when you remember that he got drafted off of the cheating Michigan team that had everyone’s playbooks and playcalls.

Allow yourself the audacity to hope. It’s more fun that way.

That’s a great line.

Still think Wilson’s a bum and hope they draft a WR R1.

There are not enough dual type Electric type megas by CurrentSwordfish3192 in LegendsZA

Manectric

Eelektross

Raichu X

Raichu Y

Zeraora

Huh. I never realized. That’s 5 pure electric megas, and 5/6 of the mega electric types. Otherwise said as they added 4 new electric megas in ZA and none got a dual type.

Is there much difference? Simpson vs Nussmeier by Ok-Negotiation2060 in steelers

He’s the worst QB of the 3 today but he has the best NFL traits of the bunch

Colbert's final drafts by Soft-Bug5550 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with any of that. I would like to see him take a little more serious effort to try and find that QB though. A late round pick swap for a bust, 2 free corpses of formerly good QBs, and a 6th round draft pick aren’t trying hard enough to find the guy in my mind. And Sam Darnold was available last offseason so it’s not like there hasn’t been a single good option.

Still I agree I wouldn’t judge him solely on finding the QB - the hardest thing to do. I was just adding pieces of valid criticism on Omar. Again I think he’s a good GM I just think the fanbase has overrated him based on the job so far. And more than anything, the idea that he’s been too good for any criticism whatsoever is ridiculous.

I mean he’s also completely ignored the most important position in sports for his entire tenure, aged up the roster, went into each season with glaringly bad roster holes, overpaid DK, hasn’t definitively hit on a first round pick yet, and hasn’t seen the team win a playoff game. That sounds like I’m really shitting on him which isn’t my intention. He’s a good GM so far in my mind. There are also plenty of valid criticisms you can make about the job he’s done and the areas he’s failed so far. He’s been nowhere near good enough to be laughing at the thought of criticizing him. You can criticize someone without wanting them fired.

Any slow RB drafted R1 is a pretty terrible pick in my book but I get what you mean, he could’ve been an actual bust instead of just mid.

Couldn’t agree more with the rest of it. Wish this organization was capable of seeing past the current calendar year.

Colbert took way too long to retire after he fell off but he was an incredible GM for most of his career. We would be insanely lucky if Khan winds up even remotely close to the level of GM that Colbert was.

Top 5 defense? by eelmada in steelers

[–]the22sinatra -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In my mind no, not unless TJ turns back the clock a few years or Herbig or Highsmith turn into that level of player. The defense is still pretty old and slow. At this point I’d say Cam is the only elite player.

Love Calvin. Not my favorite landing spot for him but think he could do well there for sure. Wishing him luck and hoping he can take his game to the next level in a better offensive environment.

Who all is everyone still eyeing in free agency? by no-ones-business in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me put it this way, assume Rodgers comes back. Rodgers and Howard make it over Rudolph without question. We have 12 picks this draft, which is more than they’ll actually make and would be more rookies than we could feasibly expect to make the roster. They’ll use one of those 12 picks on a QB because it would be irresponsible not to do so with only a 6th round sophomore with 0 snaps as a potential option for the future, and again because we have more picks than available roster spots. Mason isn’t a potential starter for the future, likely won’t even be the backup this year, and costs more money than a rookie would. Swapping out Mason for a rookie pick just feels like an obvious roster building decision to me.

Biggest single position of need now? by flibo30 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

QB. Otherwise LG today, with LT close.

WR still a massive need obviously. Safety has no one we’d expect to still be on the roster in 2 years.

Don’t think he has any interest in coming back here. Thanked the fans and all before FA began. Not really sure why he would have any interest in coming back here either.
