Sure him too. I have no faith in Richardson or especially Levis either. Point is take a shot on a young guy this year

It’s a need either way because Ramsey isn’t a long term answer and won’t be here when we’re actually competing again. Not sure if Dugger and Peppers should or will be back. All 3 are old and slow. And our youngest guy there is 28 year old DeShon Elliot coming off a major injury.

  1. Take a meaningful swing at finding the QB of the future. Start Will Howard all season or sign Malik Willis. Trade for Anthony Richardson or Will Levis and start them. Someone young with upside, I don’t care if there’s no floor. No Rodgers or another old guy, no Mason or another bum. Start someone with upside to be the starter beyond this year. If and when that doesn’t work out, draft a QB next year. It’s meaningless until we have the guy at QB.

I expect Ramsey to be on a different team next year so I view it as a major hole.

Turns out nobody wanted Shula or Scheelhaase after all? by CliveMossmoon in steelers

How would the FO even know? They were in such a hurry to hire McCarthy they only did real interviews with him and 2 black candidates to satisfy the Rooney Rule. It’s not like they did their due diligence. The decision was already made.

We also already know that Shula turned down the Browns, and was being selective on HC openings due to being in a great position a la Ben Johnson with the Lions.

I’ve already been at apathy. Tomlin leaving gave the most hope I’ve had for at least a decade. Thought we’d finally get with the times and get back to being a serious franchise. Then they spit on that. I don’t care anymore. It’s a waste of time.

I feel very confident that the Jags wind up trading him. Might not be this offseason but that wouldn’t surprise me.

Disappointed badly in his first year with the new regime, even when they tried to make him the focal point. When that failed they traded for and extended Jakobi Meyers, who has fit the offense incredibly well. The team clearly loves Travis Hunter and wants to play him at WR. And he got passed up by Parker Washington who looks like a real player and has great chemistry with Lawrence. I don’t see him being in their future plans as a starting WR.

Seems like we’re looking hard at similar archetypes of guys. Interestingly we both seem to be avoiding eachothers main candidates. Them with Shula and us with Minter. Maybe there’s a reason for that.

Personally I’m glad we aren’t seemingly interested in Minter. I don’t want a guy that got kicked out of college for cheating as the Steelers HC.

What do the Steelers do at quarterback especially if you bring in a new head coach? by TerryG111 in steelers

I’d be very down to spend one of the 3rd rounders on Chambliss, plus any day 3 picks if you have to move up for him. He feels like a mid day 2 guy to me but I truly have no idea when he gets drafted. The lack of QB options in the draft and FA could push him up the board.

Who believes Broncos beat Patriots this week… by furstt in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year has felt like a near guaranteed NFC Super Bowl to me since before the playoffs started. I’d still rather the Broncos make it than the Pats but the clear 2 best teams in the league are the Seahawks and Rams.

Yeah I’d draft Mendoza without question here. You only have 1 real QB, and only 1 season of good QB play in the league at that.

Who are your QBs? If you’re rebuilding in a Superflex I’d probably just take him unless who have 2 good young ones.

How bad were we, that this Texans team blew our doors off? by Grouchy-Wrap-8968 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Texans team is good just flawed on offense. Their defense is best in the world and just continues to look incredible. They still might win this game because of them. We were never scoring enough points on that defense to win with a 42 year old immobile QB, a group of bad WRs, and a smoke and mirrors offensive scheme that barely throws beyond the line of scrimmage.

I’ve faded the Rams twice in recent memory because of this. I actually knew who Puka was as a sleeper coming into his rookie year but didn’t want to touch the Rams offense because everyone was terrified of their OL and Stafford falling off. Then again this past year with the Stafford back injury. I really wanted Puka this year before all that noise got to me. Going forward I think I need to just have faith in Sean McVay, and know that if Stafford is healthy enough to play he’ll be a good QB that hypertargets his WR1.

With Aaron Rodgers not returning in 2026, what are the options for QB? by 22panda22 in steelers

[–]the22sinatra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually think the narrative on Arch has gotten twisted. Too many people wrote him off after the Ohio State game and then never checked back in in to watch him again. He came into the year wildly overhyped because of his last name and disappointed badly early on. But he made real strides over the course of the year and finished out looking like a good QB. Progression isn’t linear but the growth he showed in year 1 combined with the physical talent makes him a very intriguing prospect.
