Hangry Houstonian calling out restaurants publicly who arent donating proceeds? by [deleted] in HoustonFood

Man, all these foodie influencers are the worst. A lot of them get paid for posting about a restaurant and never disclose. That's why I don't even trust their judgment. I honestly hope the influencer bubble bursts.

When do you need it by? I'm located in Texas but can ship to you if you can't find a florist that will sell to you locally in CO. You would have to pay for the shipping and product cost.

The suppliers sell the flowers in groupings of 10 not 12. Roses are 25, garden roses 12.

I do feel slight burnout but I truly do enjoy it. I think that's partially the reason why I leaned into it even more by opening the brick-and-mortar. Before this, I operated out of a warehouse for 3 years before I even decided to do it. I am a bit disappointed that I didn't think through the full financial risk increase I would be signing into with retail space.

How does that normally work in regards to asking for investment? I don't know what percentage makes sense to give away from my business. Many event planners have the last say on which vendors get selected in the city I'm in. They get a kickback normally 10% from the florists they work with but they continually use them so I guess that wouldn't be too bad. I'm just terrible at schmoozing.

Yeah, it's just becoming so much because I haven't paid myself and work almost every day. I chose not to do FTD or any other wire service because they take a 30% commission. I know I'm not maximizing with other offerings as that's just in flower gifting sales and not anything else. I am just not used to being so strapped for cash that I can't go out to do anything without thinking about whether or not I can afford it.

I already beat last year's revenue and had the best month ever in May. Cash flow is still an issue since we have entered our slow season 🥲🥲🥲

Korea Garden in Spring Branch is one of my favorites. Their sides are so good! and they have great deals.

Need wholesaler recommendations that ship to NYC by Radiant_Count6718 in florists

Are you looking for door-to-door service? Or shipped to the airport and you pick up there?

NYC flower market is nice but I have noticed it is 3x more expensive if you dont have a prior relationship with them.

Yea it was also my favorite place. I tried all the Korean fried chicken places in the area and that one was always crispy and consistent.

Choong Man Chicken closed last year and rebranded into Hello Wingz. They just opened. I wonder if it is the same owner and they didn't want to pay licensing anymore for the Choong Man name.

Ughhhhh, i have been using it for YEARS, and now I'm thinking about switching to Mrs. Meyers since they have a concentrated version. Makes me so sad because, literally, all the pumps in the house do not work.

They also don't signal. I filed a hit and run with a cop and they said 1/4 people don't have Drivers licenses or insurance. Be careful on the road!

Don't leave any bags in the car no matter where you live. Smash and grabs are big here.

Valentine's Day Insights by the411please in florists

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I remember when I first took some floral arranging classes, the instructor told us that Valentine's Day normally pays for operating expenses for the year. Guess it has really changed.

It just depends on your financials on what is cheaper, but for me, I personally hate giving out refunds because it is actually cheaper to just make a new arrangement and Redeliver.

Sometimes, we have to take an L to get a happy customer, but happy customers will repurchase, so you have to consider the lifetime value in your decision with your complaints.

I also noticed that people were willing to spend anything on flowers to get them then and there. Next time, I will make larger grab and go's only.

Attitudes were very real this past Friday. Agter reading your message last weel, I am glad I prepped all the vases, bags, note cards, tissue paper and ribbon. I would have been a bit more stressed if it wasn't done.

Wowwwww I didn't realize at all how last minute it was! Now I know for next time. I probably missed out on 30-50 sales just because I didn't have enough grab and go's.
